Charles E. Jackson died Monday morning, Feb. 23, 1914, at the age of 49 years.
He was born in Winchester, Kentucky. His parents were members of Mt. Zion Baptist
church, of which he himself was a member, having been converted at the early age
of 14 years. Though he did not identify himself with the church here in Denver,
he lived a consistent Christian life, being generally beloved for his genial
and kind disposition. Mr. Jackson's friends were numbered by the score.
He leaves to mourn his loss a devoted wife, a step-son,
five sisters and a brother. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Douglass
Undertaking parlors, in the presence of many sorrowing friends, under the auspices of Rocky Mountain Lodge, No. 1, F. & A. M., and Damon Lodge, No. 5, K. of P. Rev. D. E. Over ol' Zicn Baptist church officiating. Joe Jackson’s funeral was held from Douglass Undertaking Co. parlors Feb. 20th. Rev. Jas. Washington officiated."

June 2, 1914 Denver "Arthur Sasaman, a boilermaker, committed suicide
yesterday morning by shooting himself im the head at his home, 1136 1/2
West Eleventh avenue. Sasaman had been despondent for several days,
according to the story told by his wife. Yesterday morning he was playing with his
3-year-old twin daughters. Suddenly he left the children and went to the second
floor of his home and shot himself through the right temple. He died instantly.
Sasaman had been employed at the Ajax Iron Works. Yesterday he complained of
being ill and did not go to work. Sasaman had been in Denver for the last year,
coming from Princeton, Pa. He is survived by his wife and two babies.
Deputy Coroner Bostwick took charge of the body."

January 24, 1924 "George Frederick Atto, aged 67, and a resident of Jefferson county
for forty years, died in the U. S. Grant hospital in Denver Tuesday morning,
following an operation Monday afternoon.
Mr. Atto had been suffering for some time from bladder trouble, and had been confined to his home for the past
two months. On Monday his condition was such that it was believed an operation was
the only chance to save his life, He was taken to the hospital, where the operation
was performed, but he was unable to survive it.
George Frederick Atto was born Dec. 26, 1857, at Lenoxvilie, Canada.
He came to Colorado in 1884; and was married on Dec. 26, 1886, to Mary A. Palmer.
They lived on Belcher Hill for a number of years and then moved to the valley and
established their home in what is now known as the Fruitdale neighborhood,
where they have conducted a store and a truck garden for many years.
He is survived by his wife and nine children and eighteen grand-children.
The children surviving are: Mrs. Cleve Warren of Golden; Miss Hazel Atto of Fruitdale;
Mrs. Charles Cornell, Wheat Ridge; Mrs. J. L. Enge, Arvada: Mrs. Ira Fox, Fruitdale;
Walter J. Atto, Belvedere. Calif.; Mrs. W H. Darrell, Abbott, Colo.;
Miss Florence Atto, Fruitdale; Fred G. Atto, Fruitdale.
Mr. Atto was confirmed in the Episcopal church at the age of 14.
He was an honored and highly respected citizen.
Funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Woods & Sanders chapel. Interment will be in Golden cemetery."
February 15, 1951 "Mrs. Mary A. Atto, one of Jefferson county’s oldest native
citizens, passed away Tuesday morning, at Rooky Mountain hospital, in Denver,
following a fee days' illness. She had been in the hospital only three days.
Mary A. Palmer was born Nov. 4, 1863, to Mr. and Mrs. Joel K. Palmer,
pioneers of this region. She was born on the old Palmer homestead located east
of Golden in Clear Creek valley. She attended school in the Fairmount
district and in Golden and on Dec. 20, 1880, was united in marriage to
George F. Atto. The marriage took place at the Palmer home. Mr. and Mrs. Atto
lived in the Belcher Hill community in Golden Gate canon for many years
and then moved to the present residence on West Forty-fourth avenue in Frultdnle.
Mr. Atto passed away 23 years ago. Always keenly interested in the history of
this county and in longtime residents of the area,
Mrs. Atto was a member of the Pioneer society of Colorado.
She attended Fruitdale Baptist church.
Surviving Mrs. Atto are seven daughters, Mrs. Elsie Warren of Denver,
Miss Hazel Alto who resides at the Alto home,
Mrs. Nellie Cornell of Wheatridge, Mrs. Nettie Engle, Arvada,
Mrs. Alice Fox, Wheutridge, Mrs. Douvla Derrell of Akron, Colo.,
Mrs. Florence Thomas, Wheatridge; two sons, Walter J. Atto, Dexter, Ore.,
and Fred Atto, San Francisco, Oalif.; 82 grandchiidren,
40 great-grandchildren; a slstor. Mrs. Alice A. Son of Golden; and
a brother, Charles L. Palmer, also of Golden.
One son died in infancy. Services will be held Saturday, February 17,
at the Woods Mortuary chapel at 2:80, with interment
in Golden cemetery. The Rev. John W. Bailey will conduct the service."

Church of Delta, and was a past member of the Parish Council.
He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
Two daughters, Carol and Mary Fedler, and two brothers preceded
him in death.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four daughters,
Elaine Hall of Grand Junction, Barbara Workman of Delta,
Angie Wilson of Craig and Kathleen Gill of Miles City, Mont.;
four sons, Charles of Grand Junction, and Gregg, Paul and Tom,
all of Delta; one sister, Dorothy Alexander of Delta;
24 grandchilren; and one great-grandchild.
Rosary will be at 7:30 tonight at St. Michaels Catholic Church,
628 Meeker St., Delta."
