March 1908 "Will Hills of Atwood has invested $5,000 in a farm near Delta and will soon move his family over there. Logan oounty lost one of her best citizens when Will decided to locate over there."

February 1908 " The Hill & Schwertfeger sale came off Monday, January 27th and amounted to about $2,700. Sherman Tucker was the auctioneer and done a very fine day's work. The crowd was large, about 400 being present, and the prices things brought does not show hard times in this part of the South Platte Valley.
Mr. Hill intends to look at the country under the Gunnison Reservoir soon, and Mrs. Hill will stay at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Fickes, until Mr. Hill finds a suitable location.
Mr. Schwertfeger will go with a carload of goods near Springfield, Mo., where his family now reside. His son Bennett and young Mr. Siller will farm the place here next season. "

Portland, Oregon- William (Bill) Gerald Hills, 73, died April 17, 2009 in Providence St. Vincent Medical Center after suffering a stroke.
His family and friends will honor him on Saturday at the Forest Grove Armory at 1 p.m. for a celebration of life.

Born on May 16, 1935, to Millard and Edith Hills, he grew up in Newberg and lived in the Hillsboro-North Plains area for the past 33 years.

In 1958 he married the love of his life, Janet Fisher.

His passion for automobiles started at an early age and grew to working in the motor pool/MASH unit while serving his country in Korea. After his discharge in 1960, he co-founded S and H Auto Repair in Beaverton. A few years later he bought out his partner and continued running one of the largest private repair shops in the area.

His car club activity started with high school buddies in the Coachman Car Club, then later with the Rose City Model T Club, HACO, Speedster, V-8 and more.

He always included his family in all activities and truly enjoyed life.

Survivors include Jan, his loving wife of 51 years; sons Scott and Stacey; daughters Sheril and Amber; and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Hills genuinely touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.

Millard, born in Atwood, married Ethel Francis Noyes in 1970 in Oregon, died in Beaverton Oregon in 2001 at age 95.

Casper, Wyoming, " The marriage in Los Angeles, on June 23rd, 1940, of Miss Golden B. Hills, daughter of Mrs. M. N. Cummings, and William A. Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Mills, wool growers of near Casper vicinity, is announced.
The couple excnanged vows at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. R. E. Hibard, and were entertained at a reception afterward which was attended by more than 40 guests.
They arrived in Casper last week after an 18-day honeymoon trip to San Francisco, the Exposition and on north to Portland, Oregon.
For her wedding the bride wore a traditional white wedding gown with finger tip veil attached to a headpiece of orange blossoms. She carried a gardenia bououet. Her sister, Garnet Hills, was maid of honor and Jerry Hancock of Arizona was best man. The bridegroom is engaged in the sheep business with his father and the couple are making tnelr home on a ranch west of the city. The newly married Mrs. Mills was born in Colorado. She attended the Los Angeles Union Academy, and was graduated in '38. For two years she studied at Sierra college in Arlington, where she first met her husband. Mr. Mills was born in Michigan and moved to Wyoming with his parents soon after. The family have lived in the state for more than 31 years. Mr. Mills was graduated from Natrona County high school with the class of '34 and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for two years. For one and a half more years he attended La Sierra college In Arlington. He majored in business accounting. Since tnelr arrival the bride and bridegroom have been entertained on a number of occasions by their friends."

"William A. Mills, 92, of Casper, passed away on February 8, 2009, al Poplar Living Center.
He was born on June 4, 1916, in Bravo, Michigan, to Lewis C. and Frances (Garton) Mills. On June 23, 1940, he married Goldyn Hills. William was a 1934 graduate of Natrona County High School and had been a rancher in Wyoming all his life. He enjoyed fishing and water skiing, and was a member of the Seventh-Day Advcntist Church, Wyoming Stock Growers, Wyoming Woolgrowers, and the Casper Water Ski Club.
Survivors include: sisters, Kalhryn Mills of Casper, Anabelle Hills of Loma Linda, CA, Alyce Fund of Grand Terrace, CA, and Madalyn Lathrop of Riverside, CA; son, William daughter, Linda; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at at Highland Cemetery, with a memorial service to follow at 1 1 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, with Gordon Henderson and Weldon Treat officiating.
