The funeral of Mrs. Rena Stowers, wife of S.H. Stowers, who died Monday at her farm home eight miles north of West Plains, was held at the McFarland Funeral Home on W. Main St., yesterday afternoon.
Mrs. Stowers, who came here three years ago with her husband, had been in ill health for many years. Mr. Stowers is a bricklayer, and is known to many in West Plains, having worked on various building projects here.
Mrs. Stowers' body was buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains.

the children are to have any pop-corn balls and taffy, and the soldiers,
who are lucky enuf to get to France, have sugar at the same time, unless something be done
to produce more sweetening here. Would not sorghum cane grow around Keota?
Could not the people get together and buy a community mill? Will you not try to arouse
interest in this matter around your lively little town?"

June 1923 New Raymer, Colorado "Miss Anna Stowers, who has been a primary teacher
in the Buckingham school for several years, left Monday on her way to visit relatives
in San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles, California. She will return to her home
in Keytesville, Mo., late in the summer, where she will spend a year with her aged parents,
before resuming her school work.
Miss Stowers came to this neighborhood when the land was being taken up,
and she and her brother took up claims south of town and toughed it with the other
settlers, and proved up on their land. She taught in Fort Morgan and Keota
before coming to Buckingham. Her many friends in this community wish her a pleasant
and restful year. "
