In 1870 Shelby County, Illinois, Mahlon Blystone is 20, with Henry and Charity, sister Lydia M. 17 and brother David, 13.

The November 8, 1890 Holyoke, Colorado Sunday School Convention included a panel on "Personal experience in S.S. work, methods and results, A.S. Vaughn, Mahlon Blystone, J.H.D. Jeffires, Mrs. J.Mackey."

Mahlon proved up a quarter in 24, 6N 47W in 1894, and a Timber claim  next to it  - both these were in Phillips County

1899 Sterling "For fine building and foundation stone call on M.R. Blystone.  Furnished at reasonable prices."

In 1900 South Sterling precinct, Mahlon Oct 1849 in Ohio, is widowed. , a teamster.  Alta B. May 1877 in Illinois is a librarian, and Henry S. Aug 1879 I, Dora L. Jan 1882, Olive F. Mar 1884, and Lloyd Nov 1891 are in school.  All the kids wer born in Illinis except Lloyd in Colorado.

1900 Sterling "Miss Alta Blystone went to Fort Morgan this morning for a week's visit with Miss Luella Harrison."

1902 "Bryant Squibs" "Miss Dora Lee Blystone is visiting at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ida Baldwin."

In 1906 Dora Blystone and Olive Blystone were enrolled at the Teachers' Institute in Wray.

One tree said that David Blystone's mother was Charity Nichols  Dodds-1815-1884.

In 1870 Shelby County, Illinois, Caroline is 15, with a bunch of siblings.  Parents are probably the Hale C. Storm in 1860 Shelby County.  He's 29, Nancy E. is 28, with Sarah Jane 8, Mary Ann 7, "Mencie" 5, and William 2.

One of Ash Grove’s old settlers, Hale C. Storm, affectionately known as Uncle Lum, died at his home near Sexson Saturday evening, Jun. 25, 1904, after a long sickness. Elder James Brady conducted funeral and burial services Monday forenoon at Ash Grove, Uncle Lum having been a member of that church for some years. Mr. Storm was born Dec. 9, 1829, in Green County, IN, and came to this section six years later, where he grew to a respected manhood. He lived on the farm where he died for 40 years. He married Nancy E. Price, Mar. 14, 1848. Ten children were born to them, eight of whom are living and several of whom were present at the funeral.

In 1900 Boulder County David, born Oct 1856 in Illinois, has been married 21 years to Caroline born Oct 1853 Illinois.  He's a teamster, as is son Orville Aug 1879 Illinois.  Leona Aug 1883 Illinois, Nettie May 1890 Colorado, Zoe May 183 Colorado, and Irving DAUGHTER Sept 1895 Colorado.

In 1910 David and Caroline are farming in Weld County, with "Erva" 13.

In 1920 they're in Longmont, with no kids, and David is a laborer for the city.

1920 "A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F.R. Storm near Longmont.. Twenty-three were present. They comprised the family of Arthur Bashor of Hygiene, eight in number, the families of G.B. Storm and N.H. Storm, then add Reve. J.F. Findley and Mrs. Blystone..

Alta B. - May 30, 1877 - Feb 28, 1924 is buried in Sterling Riverside.

Olive F. Cramer "formerly Olive F. Blystone" proved up a quarter in 1, 7N 50W in 1914.

In 1920 Sterling, Olive, 35, is married to John C. Cramer, 37, with Dean, 2.  Alta, no occupation, is living with them, and so is John's widowed brother Frank, 40, Iowa.

In 1930 Sterling John is a wholesale merchant, and they have only Dean with them.

Dean is in Yuma in 1940, running a gasoline station.  He says he's married, but no spouse.

Dean Harman Cramer born Jul 20, 1917, died Sep 2, 1973, and is buried in Willamette National.  He's in the California death index as dying in San Francisco.

In 1910 Sedgwick County, Colorado, Ratio Strain is 27, living alone, farming.

Dora cash-claimed 160 acres in 1, 7N 50W in 1912 - land office was Golden. 

Dora 1883-1978 and Ratio Strain 1888-1947 are buried in Villisca, Iowa.

Ratio Strain, son of Andrew and Elizabeth-Strain was born on a farm west of Nodaway on February 8, 1888,. and passed away on July 29, 1947, aged 64 years, 5 months and 21 days. After growing to manhood In this vicinity he moved to Colorado where he took up land and was engaged in farming for several years. While there he was united in marriage on April  , 1911. to Dora L. Blystone of Sterling, Colorado. To this union seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Left to mourn his loss are his wife, four sons and one daughter: Lawrence Strain of Spokane, Washington: Neil and Marlon Strain of Omaha. Nebr.: and Clarence and Wilma of this vicinity. He also leaves one grandson, Robert Miller, who with his mother has made his home with his grandparents. Besides his immediate family, one brother, Leonard Strain, of Pittsburg, Calif., and one niece, Mrs. Brock Williams of Villisca, and a nephew. Donald Strain of Pittiburg, Calif. Mr. Strain also leaves a host of friends to mourn his passing. He never could do enough for his friends and has spread much Joy in his life by his many kind acts. He is a person that will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Butphen funeral home in Villisca, conducted by the Rev. C. M. Rowe, pastor of the Methodist church In Nodaway. ,The singing was by Cecil Weaver accompanied by Mrs. Frances Wheeler. Those in charge of the flowers were ! Mrs. Lester Watt and Mrs. Harold! I Shires, Clarence Penwell. Charles I IBhlres. T)je pall bearers were Harold i Wood, Joe Scanlan, Lester Watt and I Casey Johnson. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery.
