Aleck "Elias" Svenson Swanson and Emma Charlotte (Lindstrom) Swanson, Paul Swanson

Paul cash-claimed a quarter in 23, 7N 48W in 1890.

Possibly he's the shoemaker in 1900 Denver, born Aug 1866 with Anne L. Sep 1866, both in Sweden, with Annie A., May 1892 Colorado.  

Swan P. Swanson cash-claimed a quarter in 8, 6N 49W in 191, and Swan J. Swanson cash-claimed a quarter in 10, 7N 46W in 1891 - this is Phillips County, but only a dozen miles away.

Aleck Swanson married Emma "Lundstrom" August 26, 1885, in Douglas County, Nebraska.

Aleck proved up  a quarter in 35, 7N 48W in 1893.

In 1900 Bingham County, Idaho, Alex Swanson born Feb 1853 in Sweden, has been married 15 years to Emma, Nov 1864, Sweden.  She's had six kids, all living.  Joseph Mar 1887 Nebraska, Arthur Mar 1889 Colorado, Edith Sep 1891 Colorado, Reuben Mar 1894 Nebraska, Ephraim Sep 1896 Idaho, and Rudolph April 1899 Idaho.

One tree says that Aleck was born Feb 21, 1853 in Skine, Sweden, married Emma Charlotte Lindstrom (born Nov 5, 1864 in Sweden), in Omaha Aug 26, 1885, and they had

1.  Joseph Emanuel Swanson Mar 19, 1887 at Sterling.  Another tree - and his WWI registration - says he was born in Burt County, Nebraska.

2.  Arthur Escal Nataniel Swanson Mar 17, 1889 at Haxtun

3.  Edith Ellen Rebecca Swanson Feb 2, 1892 at Sterling  (married Ben Coltharp Feb 2, 1916)

 Rueben Arvin Swanson Mar 17, 1894 at Lincoln, Nebraska, Ephriam Carl Simon Swanson Sep 6, 1896, David Leve Leonard Swanson May 17, 1901, Esther Anna Swanson Jan 1 1904, these three at Idaho Falls, Idaho,.  Esther died at one month of age, and is buried in New Sweden.

The tree says Aleck died Jan 28, 1934 at Pocatello, Idaho, and Emma died August 30, 1943 at Sparks, Nevada.   Both are  buried at New Sweden, Idaho.

Arthur Nathaniel died Nov 4, 1945 and is also buried at New Sweden.

FindAGrave says Edith died July 27, 1929 in Los Angeles, and is buried at New Sweden.

So Aleck and Emma didn't stay long in Colorado.

A group of old settlers met at the home of Andrew Burkman in June 1919. These gentlemen established the New Sweden Pioneer Association. Annual meetings and reunions have been held ever since. The first was celebrated at Charlie Carlson's home, subsequent picnic-reunion-meetings have been held at the New Sweden Irrigation
District Ranch, New Sweden School grounds and most recently at Sealander Park. The purpose of this association is
stated: "Keep alive the memories of the pioneer days in New Sweden from the first days when the settlement was reclaimed from the desert through hard labor and numerous hardships by the pioneers and made to be a beauty spot in the Snake River Valley."

Aleck Swanson was born at Orkiljunga, Mallamous, Skone, Sweden 21 Feb 1853. His parents were Sven Paulsson and Elna Andersson.

He married Emma Charlotte Lindstrom 26 Aug 1885 at Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska. Emma Charlotte Lindstrom was born at Kittolstad, Ostergotland, Sweden 5 Nov 1864 daughter of Carl Niklassson Lindstrom and Anna Elizabeth Olofsson .

They were the parents of 8 children:

Arthur Escal Nataniel Swanson born 17 Mar 1889.
Edith Ellen Rebecca Swanson born 2 Feb 1892.
Rueben Arvin Swanson born 17 Mar 1894.
