STULKEN and ANDREW J CLUTE, J r., citizens of the United States, residing at McCook, in the county of Red Willow and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hanie-Tug Clips; and we do hereby declare the followingto be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. The invention relates generally to the means by which the wearing-piece or leather is secured in the end of the bearing or curve of a hame-tug clip. |
Stulken-Poh-Wednesday afternoon Miss Lena Stulken and William Poh were married at the home of George Poh, in Perry precinct. They are very well known to a large circle of friends who extend to them their congratulations and best wishes for their future. One tree said Anna M. Johnson Stulken died May 18, 1928 in Los Angeles.
In 1930 Orange County, George is 81, father-in-law to William C. Poh 54 and Lena 52.
"William C. and Hazel M. Stulken with his brother George L. and her father John L. McDonald, age 66, divorced, resided at 3006 West 77th Street, Inglewood, Los Angeles Co., California in 1930, and William worked as a laborer for the street railway. He was a veteran of the World War. John L. McDonald worked as a miller in a flour mill. William’s father born in Germany, mother born in Holland."
George, born about 1848, died January 6, 1933 in Los Angeles.
When Lena Caralyne Poh died in Orange County in January 1952, her father was Stulken, mother, Johnson.
| My Ggrandfather's brother, Gerhard Dietrich ("George") Stulken,
lived for a while in Furnass County NE, and apparently was unsuccessful
at farming there. He moved to McCook (Red Willow Co), and later
went out to Los Angeles, where he is listed as a shoemaker in the city directories. Are you aware that there is an area historical society in Frontier county? The Stulkens are from Oldenburg, somewhere near Varel, but I haven'tlocated my great grandfather's birthplace exactly. The name "Behnke" also rings a bell with me since one of the faculty members with whom I teach is a Behnke. But Behnke is a fairly common name. His family is from near Berlin.
