In 1935 Denver Maude (wid Ira) is a corsetiere, living at 2329 Race.
In 1930 Gail Hartwell is in Goodland, Kansas, married to Olive, and they have five month old Anna Lee.
He's in Burlington, Colorado in 1940, a car salesman, lodging with the Thomas Peterson family, married, and was in Decatur Kansas in 1935. Olive and Anna Lee are back in Jasper County, Missouri in 1940 with her father Leroy Heisten.
Gayle W. Hartwell died Sep 2, 1945 in Weber County, Utah - and one tree said he's buried in the Ogden city cemetery.

And another sister Edna M. born about 1895, is married to Harry W. Johnson 28 in Phillips County, with Harland W. 3. Harry registered with a Haxtun address, farming, with a wife and child.
Harry is the son of Nordvig and Christina S. Johnson - born Dec 1892 in Colorado, but they're in Sheridan County, Wyoming in 1900.
Harry is a house plasterer in 1930 Aurora, Colorado, 38, born in Colorado, Edna M. 37 Iowa, with Harland W. now 13, Wilbur B. 8, and Wilna M. 7.
They're still there in 1940 with Harlan running a cafe,

BABY HARTWELL
On Thursday morning, March 6, occurred the death of the infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Hartwell, the baby being but a few hours old at the time of death.
The services were held at the Hartwell home in Haxtun, Rev. O.E. Barker, pastor
of the Methodist church, conducting the services. Interment was at the Haxtun
cemetery, the preparation of the remains being by the Radford mortuary.

Caroline Elizabeth Peach February 22, 1918 – December 9, 2012 Caroline Elizabeth Peach passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Sunridge Retirement Community in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 94 years of age. A memorial service honoring Caroline's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., December 17, 2012, at the First Christian Church in Grand Junction, Colorado. Caroline Elizabeth Hartwell was born on February 22, 1918, to Frank Dexter and Nelle Amanda (Hamilton) Hartwell in Haxtun, Colorado. She spent most of her childhood and went to school in Haxtun and graduated high school in Paonia, Colorado. She attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado where she met her future husband, John L. Peach. Caroline and John were married on August 22, 1937, in Paonia, Colorado. To this union three children were born, Jean Selch (Ralph) of Aberdeen WA; Jack Peach (Linda) of Mechanicsville MD, and Richard Peach (Donna) of Colorado Springs, CO. Caroline was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was also active in the Order of Eastern Star where she was a Worthy Matron and a Grand Officer. She and her husband were also very active in the First Christian Church for many years. She enjoyed square dancing, golfing, bowling, volunteering at St. Mary's Hospital, and spending time on Grand Mesa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, and her husband. Caroline is survived by her three children; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. - |
