Mary E. Conant was born in Cass County, Nebraska, March 8, 1889.* There she
lived and grew to womanhood, and, on June 13, 1895** she married Andrew Russell.
To this union was born three children, Hazel 12 years, Virgil aged 10 and Edna
aged 6 years. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. Iva Ford of Wathena, Kansas, one
brother, Fred Conant of Rosepine, Louisiana, and her father, Charles Conant of
Rosepine, Louisiana. The family came to Phillips County, Colorado in 1910 where
they had resided until the time of her departure. She departed this life
November 16, 1922, aged 34* years, 8 months and 13 days. MILLS COUNTY IOWA

The family moved to Haxtun in 1911, the trip took 30 days in a covered wagon.
Hazel spent most of her life in Haxtun. In October of 1927 she married Lloyd
Buxton in Sterling. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Haxtun, the
Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Haxtun Auxiliary.
In 1930 Morrill County, Nebraska Hazel 20, is married to Lloyd Buxton, 32, and
they have Mary 18months and Raymond two months. Living with them are her
father Andy Russell 56, brother Virgil 18, and sister Edna 14.
In 1920 Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, Charles H. is a laborer in a sawmill with sister Lina M Kildow, 68, both widowed. Charles M. Conant,, grandson, 4, born in Kansas, is with them Emeline is the Margett Conant in the 1880 census.
In 1930 Doniphan County, Kansas, Charlie H. 69 is doing odd jobs, lodging with the widow Lillian Ford family. He's still in Doniphan County in 1940, living alone, no occupation. Lillian is 65, born in Illinois, with son Carrol W., 35, Missouri, Adalee E. 10, born in Kansas. and Floyd W. 8, Kansas.
Ivy is 19, in Doniphan County in 1920 with husband Carral Ford and six-month-old Adlee. Looks like she left, marrying a Hockaday, then a Broce.
Fred W. Conant, born Sep 9, 1891, died Oct 31, 1969 - stone in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. The WWI registration shay he was born Sept 18, 1891 in Plattsmouth Nebraska, and was a farm laborer in Wathena Kansas, with a wife and child.
Fred W. Conant married Eva May Conant, both of Wathena, Doniphan County, Kansas, married in St. Joseph, Missouri, June 25, 1914. She died Feb 24, 1919 of tuberculosis, and was buried in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. The death certificate says she was born September 15, 1898 to Wm. E. Carter, born in Bigelow, Missouri and Amanda Breckenridge born in Breckenridge, Missouri.
One tree said Charles was born March 21, 1862 in Knox County, Illinois, married Angeline Ashburn Price April 15, 1889 in Cass County, Nebraska,
The death certificate says he was born March 21, 1861, to William Conant and Martha Hiff (probably HITT), both born in Illinois. Charles died Jan 4, 1944 in St. Joseph. Informant was Mrs. James Broce (probably a niece). He was to be buried in Green Cemetery.
It said Angeline was born to James Price in 1869 in Pacific Junction, Iowa, married George W. Ashburn Feb 7, 1883 in Mills County, Iowa, and she died about 1910 in Mills County, Iowa.
In Fremont County Iowa August 7, 1885 a son was born to Geo W Ashborn, mother Angeline Price.
In 1885 Mills County, George 23 and Annie 16 Ashburn, both born in Nebraska, are farming.

Angeline's brother Vernon W. Price was in Rockland precinct in 1910, 30, born in Iowa, married to Mary J. 29 Iowa, with Glen, 4 Iowa, Clarence 2, Nebraska, and Muriel, two months, Nebraska.
In 1920 Verne W. is back in Mills County, Iowa, with Jennie, both 38, Clarence 13, Muriel 12, Bernice 8, Edward 4, and Cecilia 2, the last three in Iowa.
They're in Mills County in 1925, Vern 45, Mary J. 44, Mabel 17, Bernice 14, Edward 9, Clarence 19, married to Margie 18, and granddaughter Shirley, 1.
Then in 1930 Cass County Nebraska, Vern W. and Mary J. have only Edward with them.
In 1940 Cass County Mary J. is 58, widowed, and Edward, 24, is with her.
Edward died in 1955 and is buried in Oak Hill, Cass County.
Bernice, now married to Lyle Newburn, is also in Cass County in 1930, with Betty, 1
So they didn't stay long in Logan County.
Angeline and Vernon's brother Clarence was in Linn County, Iowa
