In 1870 Carroll County, Jacob Zuck is 28, Lydia 26, with Metta 5, Harry 4, Oscar 2, and Lydia' s mother Catharine Hurst 58 and Samuel Hurst, 21 a day laborer.

 In 1880 Carroll County, Illinois, Jacob B. Zuck, 38 and Lydia Zuck 35 have Metta A. 15, Harry E. 14, Oscar G. 12, Edith 7, and Ora M. 3.

Lanark, Carroll County was the origin of the prominent Bingaman and Gashaw families of Yuma, and the Wood family of Eckley.

1889 Holyoke "Oscar S. and S.W. Zuck, of Leslie, two of the enterprising boys of that section, were up Wednesday."  (The names got a little confused in the newspaper reporting.  The Zuck brothers probably received their mail at Leslie, about ten miles away on the Washington/Yuma County border.)

May 1890 Sterling "Superintendent Sopris has appointed D.W. Smith, D.C. Fleming, and W. G. Zuck as the enumerators for Logan County." This is likely Oscar.

Harry cash-claimed  a quarter in 35, 6N 49W in 1891, and Oscar one in section 34, also in 1891.

HARRY

In 1900 Carroll County, Illinois, Harry is an implement dealer, born April 1866 married three years to Ida, born Nov 1871 1, wih Harriett Nov 1897 and Theodore December 1898, all four born in Illinois.

In 1910 La Salle County, Illinois, Harry is a foreman of a bridge gang, married thirteen years  to Ida R. 38, Harriet E. Theodore, Arthur S. 7, Beth J , and Margaret G. thirteen months.

In 1920 Rusk County, Wisconsin, Harry is a farmer, 53, with Ida 48.  They have Harriet 22 - a teacher, Theo 21 a laborer, Arthur S. 16, Beth I,. 14, Margaret G. 10, and Gretie, 8, all born in Illinois.

They're farming in Rusk County in 1940, with only Greta.

Harry and Ida are alone in 1940 Rusk County.

FindaGrave has Harry E. Zuck dying October 24, 1944 buried in Riverside Cemetery, Rusk County.   # 122087309

Next to him is buried Ida M. Zuck dying August 12, 1967.

OSCAR

Ancestry trees say Oscar married Etta Miller August 12, 1891 in Carroll County, Illinois.

On the same page as Harry in 1900 is Oscar, also an implement dealer, born June 1868, married eight years to Etta born Apr 1870, with Merritt Aug 1894, Kenneth L. Dec 1846, and Leslie Feb 1900.  All five born in Illinois.

In 1910 Twin Falls, Idaho, Harry is a real estate agent, 41, boarding with the Fitzsimmons family.  He says he's married but no spouse.

Kenneth Zuck Son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar G. Zuck, born at Lanark December 24, 1896. Inducted into the service Aug. 13, 1918 at Kimberly, Idaho. Served in the 40th Coast Artillery at Camp Harden, Port Townsend, Washington. Died in service, October 26, 1918.

Etta has joined Oscar in 1920 Twin Falls, with Dorothy 15, Charlotte 8, and Margaret 2.  Oscar is a real estate salesman.

In 1930 they're in Rockford, Illinois, where Oscar is a roofer.  Charlotte is 18, Margaret 13.

November 11, 1939 Several Lanark relatives and friends plan to attend funeral services of Oscar G. Zuck of Rockford, former Lanark resident, Sunday at the McAllister-Julian funeral home in Rockford at 2-30 p. m. Burial will be in Willwood Burial park. Mr. Zuck. who was a former Idaho state senator, died at his home in Rockford Wednesday evening of a heart attack.

Edith L. Zuck married Leslie W. Shirley, age 23, in Chicago June 23, 1894.

In 1900 Chicago Leslie W. is a stenographer, 29, Edith L. 21, with Lawrence 5, Donald 3, and brother Loyd 23 a buyer for a dry good store.

Leslie W. Edith L., Lawrence F. and Donald L. are in Calumet Illinois in 1910.

"Leslie D. Shirley" Edith and Laurence F. are in Seattle in 1920.

In 1930 Seattle Leslie W. Shirley 62, is married to Katinka, 40, and must be doing well as a personal investor - they have a maid.

In 1940 Seattle, Leslie W. 69  is married to Katinka E. Shirley, 50.

Leslie Worthington Shirley, born about 1870, died Oct 29, 1958 in Pierce County, Washington.  Son of Samuel Shirley and Alice Worthington.

IDA

Ancestry thinks Ida Edith born July 16, 1871 to Soloman Henry Riblet Zuck and Mary Ann Haybarger.

in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, married George Ernst McCone August 1888 in Running water South Dakota.  They're in Yankton, South Dakota in 1900, George Oct 1863, Ida E. July 1871, Clarence born May 1889 in Nebaska, Earletta Aug 1890 South Dakota, Earl L. May 1895 South Dakota, George's father William McCone born Aug 1836 New York, and Goldie "Zuke" June 1881 Illinois.

In 1910, 1920, 1930, they're in Sedgwick County, Colorado, and Ida is widowed in 1940 Sedgwick, dying Feb 4, 1961.

Ida E. McCone 1871-1961 is buried in Julesburg, Colorado.

So she was maybe a cousin.
