Ernest and Anna B. (Duckworth) Royle 

In 1895 Mills County, Iowa, Ernest is 11.

In 1900 Mills County, James and Nancy Royle have Ernest, 17, Ester I. 8, and "Florance" 6.

In 1910 Rockland precinct, Logan County, Ernest is 27, married to Annie 26.  They have Blanche 4 and Bernice 1.

Ernest proved up  a quarter in 3, 6N 49W in 1915.

Ernest registered with a Fleming address, farming by himself, born May 21, 1883, nearest relative Anna Royle.

In 1920 Logan County, they have added Harold C. 8, Fay G. 3, Floyd E. 1, and a nephew Fred McKinney 17.

In 1930 Logan County, Ernest 47 and Anna 46 have Harold 18, Fay 13, and Floyd 11.

In 1940 Logan County, "Ernet W. Royal" is 56, born in Iowa, Anna B. 54, Nebraska, with Harold C. 28, his wife Linnie 23, Brna Ann 2, and Martin L. seven months.

Walter Ernest Royle 1883-1947 and Anna B. (Duckworth) Royle 1884-1973 are buried in Sterling.

BLANCHE

Blanche married Edwin Loos, and in 1930 they're in New Haven, Logan County.  Edwin is 31, Blanche 25, and they have Bernard 4.

In 1940 Logan County Ed is 41, Blanche 30, and they have Bernard 14 and Raymond 8.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Anna Loos of 610 Broadway will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday from Chaney-Walters Funeral Home, the Rev. John Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Loos, 80, died Tuesday in a Sterling nursing home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1905, in Flatt Neb., the daughter of Ernest and Anna Duckworth Royle and came to Colorado when the family homesteaded in the New Haven community in 1905. She attended New Haven school, graduating from New Haven High School in 1923 and on May 19, 1923 married Edwin Loos in Holyoke. The couple farmed in the LeRoy community until moving to Sterling in 1973.Mrs. Loos was a member of the LeRoy United Methodist Church, LeRoy Club, New Haven Club, Jlebekah's of Sterling and Senior ‘Citizens Club of Sterling. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Loos of Sterling; two sons, Bernard Loos and Raymond Loos, both of Fleming; two sisters, Mrs.Fay Brooks of Grand Junction and Mrs. Bernice Hollenbeck of Monroe,Ore.; two brothers, Harold Royle of Sterling and Floyd Royle of Grand Junction and five grandchildren.
Chaney-Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edwin Loos, 96, of Sterling died Monday, April 10, 1995, in Sterling.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Chaney-Walters, with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Howard will officiate.
Mr. Loos was born Sept. 1, 1898, in Fleming, the son of John and Katherine Weigandt Loos. He grew up in Fleming, attending school in LeRoy. He married Blanche Anna Royle May 19, 1923, in Holyoke. They farmed in the Fleming-LeRoy area until Mr. Loos retired in the 1970s. They then moved to Sterling, and had lived here since then.Mr. Loos was a member of the LeRoy United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Sterling Elks Lodge No. 1336, and a member of
Senior Citizens of Sterling. He is survived by sons Bernard and wife Arlene, and Raymond and wife Betty, all of Fleming; five grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. Mr. Loos was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche, in 1985; also by five brothers. Memorial contributions in Mr. Loos' name can be made to the Zion United Church of Christ. 

HAROLD

 Harold Cooper Royle, 84, of Sterling, died Wednesday Nov. 22,1995, in Sterling. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today at the Tennant Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 25 at the First Christian Church of Sterling, with the Revs. Greg and M.J. Fitch officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Royle was born May 31, 1911, in New Haven to Ernest and Anna (Duckworth) Royle. He grew up and attended schools in New Haven. He married Linnie Terry on Jan. 24, 1936, at the Methodist Church in Sterling. He played the banjo, fiddle and piano and enjoyed play ing pool. He was a member of the Sterling Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Linnie of Sterling; a daughter, E. Ann Holland, of Durham, N.H.; a son, Marty Royle of Sterling; a brother, Floyd Royle of Grand Junction; a sister, Fay Cline of Palisade; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 
Linnie M. Royle, 95 of Sterling, was born March 14, 1918 in Innland, Ala., and died Sat., July 20, 2013 in Sterling.
Funeral services were Tues., July 23, 2013 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lew Champ officiating.
Private interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth (Price) Terry; husband Harold Royle; and a grandson, Dr. George Alan Holland.
Mrs. Royle is survived by her daughter, E. Ann Holland of Durham, N.H.; son Marty Royle of Sterling; as well as four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Martin “Marty” Royle, 74, of Sterling passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lew Champ officiating. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Marty was born on Aug. 13, 1939, in Haxtun, to Harold Cooper Royle and Linnie Terry. He attended school in Sterling and graduated from Sterling High School. He was an auto salesman until his retirement in 2001. He married Bonnie Diel on Feb. 5, 1972 in Sterling. He was an avid trap shooter and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Shona Royle-Grimes and husband Paul of Greeley; sons, Wayne of Sterling and Shannon; two grandsons, Liam and Quinton Royle-Grimes; sister E. Ann Holland and husband Howard; niece Elizabeth Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Linnie; nephew, G.A. Holland. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
 

BERNICE

Bernice married Marion Hollenbeck, and in 1930 they're in Lane County, Oregon.  Marion is running a woodyard, 25, born in Oregon, Bernice 19, Nebraska, and they're with widowed mother Fannie Hollenbeck 57.

Bernice, born March 22, 1909 in Colorado, died March 27, 1991 in Los Angeles.

FAY

Fay, per one tree, married Paul A. Brooks, and in 1940 they're in Clifton, Mesa County, Colorado, with Sandra K. eight months.

The 1955 Palisade, Colorado directory has Paul and Fay Brooks on Route 1.

Paul A. Brooks 1914-1972, is buried in Memorial Gardens, Grand Junction.

FLOYD

In 1940 Logan County, Floyd is 21, a farm laborer, married to Eileen 20, and they have Donald eight months, all born in Colorado.

Birth: Dec. 31, 1918 Fleming Logan County Colorado, Death: Dec. 21, 2007 Grand Junction Mesa County Colorado,  Floyd Ernest Royle December 31, 1918 - December 21, 2007. Floyd went home to be with the Lord Dec. 21. 2007. He was born to Walter Ernest & Anna Beatrice (Duckworth) Royle on Dec 31, 1918 in Fleming, Co. He recalls his parents telling him that he was delivered by his father in their three room sod house during a raging blizzard storm. He spent his childhood in Fleming attending New Haven grade school and then attending Fleming High School. While in high school he decided to join the football team since the school was in need of players. He often wondered what he was doing playing with the big guys. He graduated from Fleming High in 1937. In 1940 Floyd moved to Grand Junction. CO and in March of 1941 he pursued a career with the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad where he started work in the roundhouse and then became a trainman and later becoming and retiring as a conductor. After almost 40 years of dedicated service to the railroad Floyd retired in 1980 to take care of his disabled son Darryl. Floyd had a great appreciation for music. He could play the piano, guitar, harp, accordion and the violin. He was part of a band called the Westerners. In his free time Floyd & the band would bring laughter & joy to the residents at different nursing homes by playing music for them. Floyd was a Denver Bronco fan & enjoyed watching all the football games. Floyd was an avid golfer and on most mornings weather permitting he could be found on the Lincoln Park or Tiara Rado Golf Course. Those who were blessed to have known Floyd knew him to be an honest man with a kind heart and willing to help those in need. Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years lla Royle, his sister, Faye Cline, his brother-in- law of whom he was very close to, Chuck (Helen) Adams. Surviving children by his previous marriage are two daughters, Connie (David) Jack of Pueblo West, CO. and Gayle (Ray) Seeley of Grand Jct., CO. A son Donald (Barb) Royle of Miami, AZ. Also surviving are his three stepchildren. Allen (Karen) Havens of Grand Jct., CO. Dennis (Tillie) Havens of Collbran, CO. and Zila (Victor) Samora of Grand Jct., CO. He was blessed with many grandchildren & great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his son Darryl, his sisters, Blanch, Bertha, Bernice and his brothers, Harold & Frank.

Darryl D. Royle, 53, Grand Junction, died June 10,1998, in Plateau Valley Nursing Home in Collbran. Services 10 a.m. Saturday at Oddfellows Cemetery.
Mr. Royle had been a trainman for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad.
Survivors include one son, Brandon of Grand Junction; one daughter, Dana Royle of California; his parents, Floyd and Eileen Royle of Grand Junction: one brother, Don of Miami, Ariz.; two sisters, Connie Jack of Pueblo West and Gale Seely of Grand Junction.
