May 23, 1977 "Rev. Frederick E. Mastin, 84 a resident of Meth Wick Manor, died there Sunday following a brief illness.  A retired Methodist minister, , Rev. Mastin had served churches in the Iowa conference for over 40 years, including Urliana, Monmouth, McGregor, Sabula, and Thompson.  Born Oct 28, 1892 at Stromsburg, Neb., he was married to Elizabeth Midkiff Oct 3, 1954 at Minneapolis.  He was graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1916 and from Garrett Theological Institute at Evanston Ill., in 1924.  He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the the VFW in Monticello and Burns Lodge 173 and Royal Arch Mason of Monticello.  Surviving are two stepsons, Harold Midkiff, Minneapolis and Ted Midkiff, St. Cloud, Minn.. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery.  There will be military services at the graveside."

.........................5 Mr. Albert Lee Mastin, Jr., age 83 of Mountain Home passed away Wednesday December 8, 2010 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 30, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Albert L. Mastin, Sr. and Helen Holmes Mastin.
Mr. Mastin served his country during WWII in the Navy Seabees and was a member of the Fighting Fortieth Seabees. He married his high school sweetheart Wava Buckwheat on Oct. 18, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a member of the Methodist faith and a lifelong member of the VFW. He enjoyed bowling and played softball well into his forties. He was an avid fisherman (walleyes). He was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wava Mastin of Mountain Home; 1 son, Don Mastin of Mountain Home; 5 grandchildren: Blaine (Valerie) Mastin, Travis (Cheryl) Mastin, Tracy Mastin, Mike Mastin and Kasey Mastin; 10 Great grandchildren: Tanner Mastin, Keegan Mastin, Jamie Mastin, Cameron Waggoner, Dalton Mastin, Colton Mastin, Kelli Emig, Shelli Emig, , Lacy Mastin and Matthew Mastin.; 1 great great grandchild, DaShawn Flowers; 2 sisters: Helen Bruner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Ruth Powers of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother, Terry Mastin of Mountain Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Dean Mastin and a sister, Alberta Johnson
A gathering of remembrance will be held from 2 until 3 PM Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Roller Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
