John W. Longbery married Amanda J. Dulgar August 14, 1857 in Pickaway County, Ohio.

John Wesley Longberry, a farmer in 1880 DeWitt County Illinois, 45, married to Mandy. J. 40, with kids Jane 20, Sarah W. 18, Richard 12, Charley 12, Alex 10, Josie 5, Sherman 1, and grandson "Robbert" 2.

DeWitt County is very close to Chenoa, Illinois, and it's probable that John knew or was related to some of the Chenoa businessmen who claimed land in Logan County.

In 1900 McLean County (where Chenoa is located) J.W., born April 1833 in Ohio, is married , but no wife.  With him is daughter Nellie Hanks born April 1881 in Illinois, son Dick Longberry Jan 1877 Illinois, and niece Oroline Neal April 1900.

John 1833-1909 is buried in Farmer City, DeWitt County - "114th Ohio"    Amanda J. buried there dying 1883 aged 50 year.

His son John J. Longberry, born Jun 6, 1868 in Pickaway County, Ohio, would have been just old enough to file a claim, so the son is even more likely.  One tree said he died April 10, 1944 in Clark County, Ohio,  "Son of John Wesley and Amanda Dulgar Longberry. He married Dora Redding 27 Aug 1891 in Pickaway County, Ohio".

Dora Redding in 1870 is a year old, in Pickaway County with parents Nelson 26 and Sarah 28.  Charles is 6, Martha 3.

Nelson is widowed in 1880 Pickaway County, and that may be why Dora is with grandmother Nancy and uncle Elijah.

Dora's sister Martha, 16, is with aunt Ann Mouser in 1880 Webster County, Nebraska, and her kids.  One of them.L.D.  was in Chase County, Nebraska in 1900, born Jan 1860 in Ohio.

The on-line Pickaway County records don't have either one of them.  It's very plausible that young John, single, went to Logan County, Colorado to finalize a claim, then came back to Ohio with enough money to marry.

John and Dora (Redding) Longberry had Minnie July 9, 1895 in Pickaway County.

In 1900 Pickaway County, Ohio, he's a farm laborer, born Jun 1867 in Ohio, married nine years (just the same year of the Logan County claim) to Dora born July 1868 Ohio.  They have Golda Feb 1890 (a year before marriage?) Ohio, Arthur Sep 1892, Mamie Oct 1895, and Cecil Feb 1898.

The tombstone in Waterloo cemetery has Dora 1868-1906,  but John's has 1848-1944.  So the date on the stone is probably wrong.

One tree says "Longberry, Goldia Goldie M, Born Feb 03 1890 in Ohio, Died May 15 1967 in Washington Court House, Fayette, Ohio, United States of America"

In 1910 Bates County, Missouri, John Longberry is 45, widowed, with Arthur 15, Minnie 14, and Cecil 12., all born in Ohio.

In 1910 Pickaway County Golda is 21, married to Perry Osburn, 27, and they have Ada, son, ten months old.  With them is nephew Emery Longbery, 8, born in Ohio,

They're still together in 1920, 1930, and 1940, and buried Perry 1880-1944 and Goldie M. (Longberry) Ogburn 1890-1967.

January 8, 1962 BRADENTON, Fla. — Mrs. Minnie Driskill, 66, of Lewistown Route 1, who made her winter residence in Bradenton, died Thursday at 10:30 p. m. when she was accidentally electrocuted. Her husband, Ray, whom she married Dec. 15, 1928, survives. She was born Oct. 12, 1895 in Pickaway County.  Other survivors are two sons, Paul Longberry of Dayton and Virgil Longberry of Woodstock; two step-sons, Harry Driskill of Jackson Center and Leonard Driskill of Columbus; three brothers Cecil of Fairborn, Emery of New Hilland and Arthur of Mt. Sterling; a sister, Mrs. Goldie Ogburn of Mt. Sterling; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p. m. by the Rev. Jack Fawley with burial in Sabina Cemetery. Friends may call at Littleton funeral home today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m.

Arthur said he was born in Monroe Township, Ohio, September 8, 1894 (but the records say 1892) , and was single when registering.  When he registered for WWII, he said September 9, 1893 was his birth date.  He was living in Lewiston, Ohio, and his relative was Goldie "Ougburn"  of Mt. Pleasant.  He was unemployed at that time.  Arthur died Feb 5, 1967 in long-term care facilities in Fayette County, Ohio.

Xenia Ohio, May 17, 1967- Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Waterloo Church of Christ in Christian Union for Mrs. Goldie Mae Ogburn, 77, of Hoppes Rd., sister of Cecil Longberry of Fairborn. Mrs. Ogburn, who died Monday in Madison County Hospital, London, also is survived by a daughter, another brother, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling. Burial will be in Waterloo Cemetery.

October 12, 1977 Cecil R. Longberry, 79, 2057 Bennmghofen Ave.; was dead on arrival Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, after ; becoming ill while working at Mt. Pleasant Nursery. Born in Fayette County, he lived in Hamilton for the past nine years, and previously  had lived in Fairborn 20 years. He was a retired milk deliverer.  Survivors include his wife, Mary Florence Mahany Longberry, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Gray, Washington Court House; Mrs. Betty Keller, Greenfield, one son, John Longberry, Washington Court House; 19 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren. Services Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerstner-Kinzer Funeral Home, Washington Court House. Burial Waterloo Cemetery

In 1920 Pickaway County John J. is 66, widowed, with Arthur 26, Minnie 24, and John P. 3.

In 1930 Madison County Ohio, John is 75, living with daughter Minnie 34 Driskill and her husband Ray W. 36.   It looks like Ray and Minnie have mixed kids, with Harry 13, Grace 10, Paul Longberry 13, and Vergil Longberry 9.

The tombstone in Fayette County has Longberry Dora 1868-1906 and John 1848-1944, and the FindAGrave note says "Dau of Daniel and Sarah Micker Redding, she married John J Longberry 27 Aug 1891 in Pickaway County, Ohio "

ANOTHER- less likely -  POSSIBLE

He might be the John Longberry in 1880 Pickaway County, Ohio, widowed, 20, working for his father-in-law Wm. "Longabone", 72 and his wife Margaret, 67. 

Also in 1880 Union County, Ohio, John Longbery is 20, married, living alone, a laborer.

In 1900 Union County, John and Viola, both 40, have Grace 18, Othel 13, and Harry 6.

In 1910 Union County, John B. Longberry is farming, 50, married 30 years to Violet A. - saying it's the first marriage for both. She's had four kids, all living.  With them is Ethel D. 27, Ohio and Harry A. 16, Ohio. - no occupations.

In 1920 Union County, John and Viola A. are alone, farming. 

John -1859-1926 is buried in Byhalia, Union County " Son of Jacob and Mary Jane Mitchell Longberry- Husband of Viola Hartley" 

Viola is widowed in 1930 and 1940, and is buried in Byhalia, Union County  -1860-1944  "daughter of James and Lydia Bonham Hartley- wife of John B Longberry "

Their son, Othel Ray Longberry, is also buried there, and FindAGrave says he was born 1886 in Union County, Ohio.  Doesn't sound likely that a farmer with young kids could afford the time and money to file a claim in Logan County, Colorado.
