I recently bought an autobiographical book of reflections by
Ruth Schooley Hall who moved from Clay County, South Dakota to Logan
County, Colorado with a group of folks from the area. Many were looking
to regain their health in the clean Colorado air. The following are names of the group who were among the first pioneers with Ruth and Orrin Hall: Harry Moore with wife Abbie, kids Mary, Myrtle, Frank; Will and wife Nettie Kuhler and son Ralph; Ed and John Kuhler-bro of Will; Ed and Anna Ketchum; Frank & Rhoda Noyes; George & Etta Rudel plus kids Jeanette and Lloyd; Charlie Rudel; Ed Rudel; Lew & Mary Knight with kids Florence, Mabel, Ralph; A. K. and Pearl Ride; Will, Lew & Wid Sipes from Missouri; and Hattie Berkstresser from Mt. Carroll, IL. This book makes for very interesting reading if your family was in Logan County, Colorado from 1907 on. This book tells the real life story of life there.
