Edson L. Ketchum

The first harness shop in Wessington Springs, Clay County, South Dakota was started by R. E. Ketchum in June, 1888. Another shop was opened soon after by C. N. Hall and in the following winter Mr. Ketchum moved his work to his home on Sec. 31 in Marlar township.

K. and Pearl Ride; Will, Lew & Wid Sipes from Missouri; and Hattie Berkstresser from Mt. Carroll, IL. This book makes for very interesting reading if your family was in Logan County, Colorado from 1907 on. This book tells the real life story of life there. John Benjamin Kuhler was born October 8, 1883 in Clay County, South Dakota to August Kuhler and Augusta Francis Hellebrand.

He married Dora K. Bruns in Jackson County, Iowa January 28, 1913 - saying he was born in Wakonda, South Dakota.

John B. Kuhler proved up a quarter in 29, 8N 49W in 1914.

He registered for WWI with a Fleming address, farming by himself.

In 1920 Fleming precinct he's 36, Dora A. 29 born in Iowa, with Kenneth J. five months born in COlorado.

In 1930 Fleming John and Dora have only Kenneth, 10.

In 1940 Downey California, John is a caretaker for a family, 56, divorced, - in Fleming in 1935.
He died in Los Angeles County February 8, 1975.

Kenneth is in Logan County in 1940, 20, living alone, a farm laborer.

1979 Haxtun "Walter Brown and daughter Ida Kuhler from Willamina, Oregon were guests at a club iat the Manor.

Kenneth John Kuhler 1919-1993 is buried in Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon # 105176313, wit Ida Nadine Kuhler 1926-1991.
