Sherman, Edwin Cook; lost one son, Horace.

JULIUS KRAUSE , 87, died late Wednesday evening, January 26, 1955, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Turnbaugh in Savanna. He suffered a stroke one week ago. He was born November 13, 1867 in Germany, the son of Ferdinand and Henrietta Krause. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Turnbaugh of Savanna and Mrs. Charles Schall of Mount Carroll; one sister, Mrs. Sherman Holman of Mount Carroll; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Frank Funeral Home. The Rev. John Main, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

William Tecumseh Sherman Holman, known as W. T. S. Holman, was born September 3, 1864 in Mount Carroll Township, Carroll County, Illinois. His parents were Charles and Sarah A. (Cook) Holman. He married Nettie E. Krause on October 2, 1900, in Carroll County, Illinois according to the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763-1900. (Some family trees show this date as November 1, 1900 in Loran Township, Stephenson County, Illinois.) He owned and operated a furniture store and funeral parlor in Mount Carroll. William T. S. Holman died February 7, 1945 in Mount Carroll.

Mt. Carroll, Ill., Feb. 17, 1945—W. T. S. Holman, 80, passed away about 7:30 o'clock this morning at his home in Mt. Carroll, following a long illness. He was born at Mt. Carroll Sept. 3, 1864, the son of Charles and Sarah Holman and on Oct. 2, 1900, was united in marriage to Miss Nettie Krause of Mt. Carroll. Mr. Holman was engaged in the furniture and undertaking business here for thirty-five years, retiring in 1928. He was active in the Masonic order, having been a member of the Blue Lodge, Commandery, Freeport Consistory and Co-ordinate bodies, and the Mystic Shrine at Rockford.

He leaves his widow, one son, Charles Holman, of Mt. Carroll; one granddaughter, and a sister, Mrs. Sherman Bancroft, of Mora, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home. Rev. R. H. Nettie E. Krause Holman was born in 1875 in Germany. I have been unable to determine the names of her parents. She died May 24, 1961 in Mount Carroll.

Mrs. Sherman T. (Nettie) Holman, 85, a resident of Mount Carroll most of her life, died about 8 p.m. Wednesday in her home after a brief illness. Her late husband was a partner in the Holman and Myers Funeral Home and Furniture Store here for many years.

She was born Oct. 27, 1875, in Germany, the daughter of Ferdinand and Henrietta Krause. Her marriage to Sherman Holman took place Oct. 1, 1900, in Mount Carroll. Her husband died many years ago. Surviving are a son, Charles of Mount Carroll; and two grand-daughters. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Frank Funeral Home with Rev. James M. Green, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. -- Freeport Journal Standard, pg. 3, Thurs., May 25, 1961
