Ora John and Dora (Myers) Hayes 

In 1900 Merino precinct, Logan County, John M. Hayes, born Dec 1836 in Maryland, married 37 years to Caroline M. July 1834 Ohio, have Herman B. Jan 1878 Iowa and Ora J. - adopted son- Oct 1884 Illinois.

In 1900 Indian Territory, Cherokee Nation, William Myers born April 1837 and Susanna C. Nov 1858, have Levi 18, Mary 15, Dora E. born May 1886,  Jesse 10, William E. 6, and James 1.

Ora is single in 1910, living alone, farming, in Leroy precinct.

In 1910 Logan County, Dora is 22, divorced, born in Kansas, living with Susana 51, widowed "Myres". Brother Pearl 20, Kansas, William 16, Millard 13, James all born in Colorado.  Brother Levi is 37, married to Emma Belle, 23, and they have Margaret A. 5.

Susanna Myers married Sam Ard July 28, 1925, recorded in Logan County.

Samuel dying 1932 and Susanna dying 1930 are buried in Sterling.

 

Ora John "Hays" married Dora Ellen Myers March 28, 1912, recorded in Logan County.

Ora proved up  a quarter in  9, 6N 49W in 1915.

In 1920 Leroy precinct, Ora is 35, married to Dora E. 36, and with them is Velma, 13.

Velma Gertrude Myers married Walter LeRoy Zech September 25, 1928, recorded in Logan County.  Walter was in Leroy precinct in 1920, one of eight kids of W.L.39 and Nora Mae 37 Zech.

"In 1915, the Zech family traveled by rail to Colorado and located on a farm in the New Haven Community."

One tree said she was born March 12, 1906 and died Feb 11, 2006 in Denver.

In 1930 Roy, 26, and Velma 24 are in Rock Creek precinct, Washington County, Colorado.

Ora and Dora are alone in 1930 New Haven precinct, but in 1940 they have six Zeiler kids lodging with the, ages 4 to 15.

 Walter LeRoy Zech 36, and Velma 33 are in Dailey precinct, Logan County in 1940, with Robert, 9.
Henry Allen Zeiler, 80, of Limon, Colorado passed away on August 9, 2013 at Carlas Cluster Care NE Campus after a battle with cancer. Allen was born to Henry and Elizabeth (Krus) Zeiler on April 10, 1933 four miles northwest of Iliff, Colorado the youngest of five children. He was the only boy with four older sisters so he learned at a young age how to be nice to the ladies. Allen enjoyed trading coins and talking with people, as he never met a stranger. He had a huge heart and enjoyed helping others. He loved watching the Broncos and was a history buff. Allen especially enjoyed Bible Study and singing the good old hymns with the church groups that would visit the nursing home. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Elizabeth and four sisters; Lucille McMillen, Clara Brown, Mary Lou Zeiler and Edna Norton. Allen will be greatly missed by the staff and residents at Carlas.

Ora J. and Dora E. Hayes claimed land in 1951 in section 9, 6N 49W.

Robert L. Zech, born December 12, 1930, in Sterling, Colorado, to Walter and Velma Zech, passed away June 22, 2012. Bob had four younger siblings, Norma (Howard); Shirley; Dean (Jan); and Diana.

Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his return to the United States he married his first love, the former Julie Voss and they were the proud parents of Roy Zech and Judith (Zech) Gibson (Ron). Bob had three grandchildren; Andy Zech-McKenna, Rachel Gibson and Colby Zech; and two great grandsons, Hayden McKenna and Kaiden Zech.

Bob was a member of Denver Timing Association car club and the North Denver High School Alumni Committee for many years. His wry sense of humor and keen observations will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob's leaves behind his beloved companion, Elaine Ciccone, as well as many, many friends and family members who will miss him deeply but know that he is directing things well as St. Peter's right-hand-man in Heaven.

A memorial service to honor Bob's life will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church located at 6490 Carr Street Arvada, Colorado.
