Wisconsin marriage records have Joseph Dwight Gross, son of Dwight Deleven Gross and Emily "Benington" marrying Mary Elizabeth Jolliffe in Milwaukee Jan 24 1882.  Mary was daughter of Samuel Joliffe and Mary Jane Piper.

In 1885 Saline County, D. D. and Elizabeth have J.D., 27  and his wife M.E. 23.  The next household is J.R. and Eva, with D.D. 5 and Ella four months.

John R. Gross is in Weld County in 1900, born May 1860 in Wisconsin, married 21 years to Eda Apr 1858 Wisconsin.  She's had four kids, three living, Dwight Nov 1879 and Etta Jan 1887 born in Nebraska, and Eda July 1895 Colorado.

Dwight D. Gross of Greeley received a diploma in 1903 from the Colorado State Agricultural College.

Matthew J. Brown married "Ida" Gross May 19, 1920, recorded in Weld County.

1930 Greeley "Mrs. M.J. Brown entertained her brother, Dwight Gross and his wife."

In 1930 Milliken, Colorado, Matthew J. Brown, born in Alabama, owns a garage.  He and Eda, both 34, have Gordon 7, Jack 4, and Beverly 2.

1955 "the new Denver reservoir on Boulder Creek will be known as the Dwight Gross reservoir in honor of a retired, long-time engineer for the water board.  He was the engineer for that reservoir.  He graduated from Greeley high school and Colorado A&M. His parents at one time owned a farm a mile west of Greeley.  He served some 34 years as an engineer for the Denver water board."

In 1930 Etta, a teacher, and Clyde Gregory, a mechanic,  both 43, are in Greeley.

Etta G. Gregory, per # 65222314, is buried in Linn Grove Block 8, lot 138, space 5 - born 1887, dying July 8, 1933.

1934 Greeley "In Greeley Friday afternoon, the marriage of Miss Myrtle Stitzer of Aspen and Chester Stender of Greeley was learned by their friends, the ceremony having occurred in Glenwood Springs Wednesday evening at 6:30 o'clock.- Rev. Kennedy officiated at his home, and the service was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hlltzei'. the bride's parents, her brothers. .lav Edward and llalnli: Miss Mary Diuisdll, William Bourqutjij and Edward F. Tar- boll. The bride wore a brown traveling costume and carried a bouquet of yellow snapdragons. The couple had a short wedding trip in the mountains before returning home. Mrs. Stender has been a student at Teachers college, having completed the Junior year. Mr. Stender, grand-son of John R. Gross and J. A. Stender, both of Greeley, was graduated from Teachers with the A.U. degree, and was prominent in musical activities of college and community. He is a member of l^unibdn Gamma Kappa fraternity. Mr. Stender will teach music in the high school at Ault, and he and his bride will make their home there. "

1937 Ault " Chester Stender, teacher, has resigned and has accepted a position in the school att Leadville."

 In 1940 Clyde Gregory, 54 and Mildred 48, are in Greeley, with Jack Gregory, 13.

In 1940 Weld County, John R. Gross, 79 is living with Mathew, Eda, and their three kids.

John R. Gross married Mrs. Eva Jorden August 29, 1927, recorded in Weld County.

March 5, 1932 "Mrs. Evalyne Gross, 72 years old, wife of John R. Gross of three miles east of Greeley, died at her home Saturday morning, following an illness of two years. She had been a resident of Colorado for the past eight years, having come to the Greeley vicinity from Iowa. She was a native of Toledo, O. She and Mr. Gross were married four years ago last August. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gross is survived by one stepson, M. Armfield, Greeley; Mrs. Eda Brown, Milllken; Dwight D. Gross of Denver. She is survived also by several grandchildren." Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 o'clock at Macy's drawing room. Interment at Linn Grove.:

Beverly Ann Varo born Dec 9, 1927 in Colorado, mother Gross, father Brown, died May 21, 1997 in San Diego County.
