In 1940 he's a track laborer, single, living at a mission on Larimer Street in Denver.

SSDI has Stephen Gratzer born March 12, 1879, dying October 1963, last residence Colorado.

His case was in Denver Probate Court in 1963, but he's not in the Denver obituary index.
