In 1930 Pearl is 10, a ward at the State Home for Dependent Children in Denver, and in 1940 she's in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, 20 living with Warren and Erma Douglas - "cousin by marriage" An uncle Ivy L. Sayre 1886-1965 is buried in Scotts Bluff - maybe that's kin. Viola Sayre probably married Leo Douglass, and they had a daughter Carol in 1937 Mitchell, Nebraska.
Albert Morean, born about 1891, was a patient in 1930 at a Colorado Springs hospital.... Maybe that's why the kids were not with Golda.

Clinton D. Ferrier enrolled in the WPA/CCC in Yuma County.

Norma Emma Niemann Ferrier, age 86, a longtime resident of Colorado
Springs, passed away on June 12, 2011 in Colorado Springs.
Norma was born on May 21, 1925, in Winside, Nebraska, a daughter of
the late Otto H. and Clara Seivers Neimann. She was a retired
caregiver. She enjoyed needle point, sewing, and quilting.
Norma was a member of Security Christian Church. She enjoyed living
at Mountain View Care Center. Norma was an avid letter writer and
kept in contact with numerous relatives by letters. She also
enjoyed collecting knick-knacks, loved gardening and could grow
anything from pepper plants to strawberries.
Norma loved spending time with her family and friends.
Norma is survived by 3 sons, David Clinton Ferrier Jr., William
Bruce Ferrier, Larry Dean Ferrier, a daughter, Susan Marie Ottinger,
9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great
grandchildren, 5 sisters, Edna Newman, Lisette Wells, Marian Truby,
Verda Parr, Ester McMahan, a brother, Les Neimann, a sister-in-law,
Eva McCalla. Norma was also preceded in death by her husband, David
Clinton Ferrier Sr., and a brother, Alvin Niemann.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 AM with
a Funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at Central Christian Church,
2002 W. Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904.
In lieu of flowers the family requests they be sent to the Central
Christian Church.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ David Clinton Ferrier, Jr. God blessed this world with his birth June 10, 1946 and he went to be with his Lord and Savior December 31, 2011 at the age of 65. He was born in Norfolk, NE to David Clinton Ferrier, Sr. deceased and Norma Emma Niemann deceased. As a child Dave lived in Sioux City where his three siblings were born. In his later childhood he lived in Pueblo, CO and then Security, CO where he graduated from Widefield High School in 1965. He joined the Naval Reserves and spent 12 years proudly serving his country on either active or reserve duty in the Navy. During his military career he was a medic as well as a fireman. During his time in the military he met and married Lynn Rowan. They resided in Memphis, TN. After retirement Dave studied at Memphis State University/University of Memphis. He then began his lifelong career as an Associate Professor Southwest Tennessee Community College formerly Memphis Tech. where he taught from July 1972 to June 2003 when he retired. Even though Lynn and Dave divorced they shared a great joy and pride in their two children Douglas born October 8, 1972 and Katherine born April 9. Dave enjoyed a variety of activities including texting, reading books, watching tv mainly sports and documentaries, watching movies, dining out, cooking, surfing the internet, photography, listening to music, and attending church. He always had time for his friends and his family. He loved to extend a smile, conversation, and comfort to all he met. He offered excellent advice when asked and enjoyed hearing about people's lives. He was an avid college sports fan and the Memphis StateTigers were his favorite teams. When he watched any game he didn't care who won or lost as long as it was a good game. Dave was quick to forgive and wanted people to be happy. He was very proud of his children and his grandchildren. He was grateful for all the time spent with each one of them. He could be quite stubborn, yet he always said how grateful and compassionate Katherine was to have taken care of him after his accident in 1999. The accident forever changed his life and perhaps set the course for what would ultimately be what ended his life. He never fully recovered from his injuries and spent the next 12 years fighting illness after illness. In 2009 Dave miraculously woke up from a year long coma and we were blessed with 2 more years with him. He often told people that he'd had a good life and to always stop and smell the roses. In 2010 he relocated from his beloved Memphis back to his childhood city of Colorado Springs. His goal was to be closer to his mother so he could reconcile past differences and spend time with her. She passed away just 7 months later in May 2011. Dave loved his view of Pikes Peak and loved to tell everyone about it and each and every morning he would send a group text saying what a beautiful morning it was. Dave is survived by his brothers' William Bruce, and Larry Dean; his sister Susan Ottinger and her husband Larry; his two children Douglas and his wife Debi and Katherine and her husband Reginald; his five grandchildren Christopher, Norman, Stephanie, Katie, and Bobby Ferrier; great-grandchildren Sophia Alexandra; his nephews Shawn and Dennis Ottinger, Jason and Jeff Ferrier; his nieces Julie and Jody Ferrier and Peggy Walden; his great-nephews Kyle, Morgan, and Holden Ottinger, Joseph, David, Nicholas and Callaen Ferrier, Tristen Madden; and his great-nieces Samantha Ferrier, Ashley Madden, Kaitlin and Brittany Ottinger. Services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 4pm at Fellowship of the Rockies 1625 South 8th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Flowers and Memorial donations may be sent care of Fellowship of the Rockies. There will be a reception following the service |

MITCHELL - Paul N. Lewandowski, 87 was called to rest Saturday May
16, 2009 at his home. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday May
20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mitchell
with Father Stephen Deaver and Father Anthony Madhichetti as
co-celebrants. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken
place. A Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday May 19th at 7:00 PM
at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place at the
Mitchell City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Theresa
Catholic Church.
Paul was born May 5, 1922 at Ashton, Nebraska the son of Paul and
Mary(Waskowiak) Lewandowski. Paul’s father was a successful rancher
and farmer. The family moved to the Broken Bow area when he was a
young child and Paul attended school and graduated from the 8th
grade at the Snake Run School. Paul moved to the Mitchell area in
his early 40’s and worked for Johnsons north of Mitchell. In 1943 he
joined the army. He served as a replacement depot driver in England
and France during World War II. He had the honor of meeting General
Patton and the other Generals as well during this time. He was
united in marriage to Georgia Pearl Ferrier on December 26, 1945 at
St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mitchell. The couple made their home
in Mitchell while Paul worked for and later managed the local lumber
company. They were blessed with four children and lived in the area
for some 60 years. Paul and Pearl spent several wonderful summers in
Canada following their retirement. He was a member of St. Theresa
Catholic Church, Kiwanis, the Moose Lodge of Scottsbluff, Knights of
Columbus (50 years), the Michie McKeuown American Legion Post 124
(64 years – serving as commander for three of those years). He also
served on the Scotts Bluff county fair board for 30 years, assisted
the social services, along with Pearl, handing out commodities, and
volunteered at the Regional West Medical Center for 22 years. Paul
was also a collector of antiques.
Paul is survived by his sons: Timmy Edward (Debbie) Lewandowski of
Vero Beach, Florida, and Dennis Ray (Cindy) Lewandowski of Loveland,
Colorado; daughter: Vicky Jean Settles of Mitchell, Nebraska; 6
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brothers Richard (Kathy)
Lewandowski of Seminole, Florida, and Edward Lewandowski of Lincoln,
Nebraska.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, young son (Val Allen in
1953), parents, five brothers, and several uncles, aunts, and
cousins.
