In 1880 Seward County, Nebraska, Martin Abitz is 27, born in Prussia, with Minnie 25,  Mary 1, and Frank one month.

Minnie died October 2, 1887, and is buried in Plummers Branch, Saline County, Nebraska.  93415970

In 1900 Chase County, Nebraska - about 80 miles away from Logan County, Martin Abitz born Dec 1852 in Germany, has been married 12 years to Mary A.  May 1853 Wisconsin.  With them are Samueal A. Jan 1882, Daniel W. Sep 1883, Gusta S. Mar 1888, and Hulda W. May 1887, all kids in Nebraska.  His father Michel Aug 1812 Germany is also with them.

Martin & Mary visited Martin's brother at Wausau WI; & Mary's mother at Durand IL in January 1910.

In 1910 Chase County Martin and Mary have only Agusta, 25, a dress maker. in 1920 they're alone.

 

In 1930 Chase County Martin is widowed, 77, with daughter Augusta.  She's married to Adam Jeager, 59, and they have six kids.

May 28, 1827 Wausau, Wisconsin

Christian F. Abitz, 1004 S. Eighth Avenue, passed away at his home this morning at 1:00 o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and at the German Methodist Episcopal Church at 2:00 o'clock, the Rev. H. C. Stahmer officiating, and burial is to be in Pine Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born May 18, 1838, in Germany and was married to Wilhelmina Rease in Monroe on December 24, 1874. He came from Germany to that city in 1868 and moved to Wausau in 1881. Surviving are the widow; five children, William and Otto Abitz of Wausau, Fred Abitz of the town of Flieth, Mrs. R. W. Berger of Waukesha and Mrs. Fred Z. Krueger of Kenosha; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Matzke of Milford, Neb.; two brothers, William Abitz of Paynesville, Minn., and Martin Abitz of Imperial, Neb.; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
