A A Graves was born November 25, 1840 at Windom, Cattaragus county, New York. At the age of ten years he removed with his parents to Dane county, Wisconsin, where he grew to manhood. In the fall of 1868 he came to Iowa, settling about four miles southeast of State Center, where he made his home until his death. He was married to Susannah King June 8, 1863 at San Prairie, Wisconsin. She died September 23, 1897. They had no children. One sister living at Asotin, Washington, is all that remains of his immediate family. Two nephews, Leslie and Fred Julius, live at Little Cedar.
