Edward E. and Minnie Stoner

Edward Elsworth Stoner died August 1, 1944 in Chariton County, Missouri, born January 19, 1865 in Ohio to Martin Stoner and Sarah Downs, both born in Pennsylvania.  He had been married to Minnie Rose Pate, born October 16, 1870 in Knox County, Illinois to Radford Pate and Evelyn Cain.  She died April 16, 1948 in Chariton County.

Edward Elsworth Stoner, son of Martin O and Sarah Down Stoner, was born in Hancock county, Ohio, January 18, 1865 and departed this life August 1, 1944. He came to Missouri with his parents in 1869, and in the exception of four years which he spent in the West, he has spent his entire life here.
He was married to Minnie Patem near Rockland Colo., July 1, 1888, and to this union were born nine children, six son, and three daughters, seven of whom with his wife survive, to mourn his passing. The living children are: Clyde E Stoner of Sumner, Raymond E Stoner Orville W. Stoner and Mrs. Roy Pollard of Mendon, Mrs. Byron Maruder of Brookfield, Earl R Stoner of Kansas City, and Otis Stoner of Rothville. He also leaves one brother, E.H.Stoner of Sumner and one sister, Mrs J.E. Mitchell of Keytesville; twelve grandchildren, one having preceded him in death four years ago; two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stoner became a member of the Indian Grove Christian Church when a young man, and has remained a faithful member, serving as deacon and trustee if the church for 39 years. He was also a member of the Modern Woodman Lodge for over 40 years.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Paul Berthold of Mendon at three o'clock Thursday afternoon August 3, and burial was at the family lot. 

In 1880 Seward County Nebraska, "Millie" R. Pate is 9, with Radford H. 36 and Cordelia E. 30.  Siblings are William 8, Polly 6, James R. 3, and Harriet G. 1.

Edward is in Chariton County, Missouri in 1880, with Martin and Sarah, both 44,.  Siblings are Christ 17, Charles 9, Della 5, Eli 14, and John 18, all kids born in Ohio. 

Colorado marriage records have Edward E. Stoner marrying Minnie Page July 1, 1888 at Chonoa Colorado, performed by F.L. Weigert, Evangelical Minister of Chonoa.
