John Delos and Sarah Ann (Crooks) Presher, daughter Phoebe (Presher) Brown, sister Eunice (Presher) Land Bunce

In 1860 Green County, Wisconsin, John Presher is 68, Malissa 65, with Erenis D. 20, Martha J. 17, John D. 14, and William F. 12.

In 1870 Green County, "Delos Preasson" is 25, Sarah A. 23, Pheba 4, and Charles 2.

In 1880 Hamilton County, Nebraska, John "Delass"  is 33, Sarah 32, with Phoebe 14, Theadore 8, and a two-month old daughter.  There's a page break between Phoebe and Theadore, so it's possible the census taker missed a 12-year-old-Charles.

Sister "Unis"  Land is on the same page, 40, with Laura L. 16, Frank 12, John K. 10, Murty 7, Willis 4, and an eleven month -old son,

John D. Presher filed August 31, 1890 for an invalid pension from the state of Colorado for service in G, 22nd Wisconsin Infantry.

John D. Presher cash-claimed a quarter in 35, 6N 48W in 1891



J.D. "Prusher" is a member of the Fleming G.A.R. post in 1895.

September 1899 - Sterling "Mrs. J. D. Presher, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. A. F. Browns, left this morning to visit the carnival, after wJiich she will return to her home at Pueblo."

1900 Sterling "Mrs. Alice Presher left via the U. P. this morning for her home at Salt Lake after an extended visit with her sister-in-law, Mrs. A. F. Browns."

Theodore is married to Harriet in Pueblo in 1900 and 1910 - so that's probably why John and Sarah had the photo taken there.

September 1914 "Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Presher, 1125 East Seventh street, are in the Southern Colorado hospital in a critical condition as a result of being pinned under their automobile when it was overturned on the Colorado Springs highway. Miss Nina Presher, their daughter, jumped from the car as it plunged into an arroyo and escaped uninjured."

Theodore 1871-1925 and Harriet 1872-1951 are buried in Mount Hope, San Diego, California

Albert F. Brown cash-claimed a quarter in 4, 8N 49W in 1891 - that's about twenty miles northwest.


March 1900 Sterling "Now comes A. F. Browns, the barber with a brand new bath room outfit consisting of two porcelain-lined bath tubs, a Wilks heater In fact a first-class bath room, in fact complete, the outfit representing an expenditure of over $300 and it is a beaut. The outfit is in working order this afternoon for the first time and will be operated every day in the week except Sunday."

In 1900 Logan County are Albert Brown Oct 1865 Iowa, married 13 years to Phoebe L. July 1866 Wisconsin, with Ople I. Mar 1888, Harry E. Dec 1890, and Gladys G. Jan 1896, all three born in Colorado.

In 1900 Ness County Kansas, John D. Presher, born April 1846 in New York ? is with Sarah A. Sept 1847 England, with Raymond Jan 1882 and Ralph A. May 1884, both Nebraska.

Sarah (Crooks) Presher, -Sept 26, 1848 - Jan 1, 1906, is buried in Wisconsin Veterans Memorial,

In 1910 John D. Presher, 70, is with son C.W. Presher 45, born in Wisconsin and his wife Nellie 27, Illinois in Oakland, California.

Phoebe is also in Oakland in 1910, "widowed", a dressmaker,  living with daughter Ople Rogers, a bookkeeper for an express company, and her son Frank W. Rogers, Jr., born in Oregon.

The three are together in 1930 Santa Clara County, Phebe L. still a dressmaker, but Ople not working - both are divorced. They're in San Jose in 1940, Ople a nurse, and Frank a bus boy at the hospital..  Phoebe, born Aug 20, 1888, died Dec 17, 1964 in Santa Clara County.

Ralph A. Presher, son of Orinda California, filed for a headstone for John Delos Presher, born 1844, died July 7, 1931, and was a prisoner of war, discharged June 12, 1865.  The stone was to be placed in Mountain View, Oakland, California.

EUNICE D. (Presher) and SIDNEY J. LAND and SIMON W. BUNCE

"Joseph Land was born August 14, 1848 in St. Clair co. IL. He was the 4th child of Jackson and Lucia (Harryman) Land. On June 10, 1866 he married Martha Crooks who was the daughter of William and Phoebe (Jeffs) Crooks. The Crooks were originally English, Martha was born there. The Crooks lived in Canada then came to Wisconsin and then later to Nebraska. However, Joseph and Martha were married in Argyle, WI in LaFayette county.

Sydney Land married Eunice Presher. Eunice Prescher's brother John Delos Presher married Sara Ann Crooks, a sister of our grandma Martha's."

Sidney J. Land 48 and "Unice"  D. Land 45 are in Lancaster County, Nebraska in 1885, with Laura L. 21, Frank T. 17, John K. 15, Mertie R. 12, Willie H. 9, and Ralph S. 6.  Niece Phebe Pressure, 19, born in Wisconsin, is also with them

Simon Bunce is in the Wisconsin Veterans Home in 1900 born Dec 1844 in Wisconsin.

Eunice Land is also in the Veterans Home, widowed, born July 1840 in New York.

Simon and "Unice" are married in the 1905 Waupaca County census.  From the ages of everyone on the page, it could very well be the Veteran's Home.

In 1910 Waupaca County, Wisconsin, Eunice 69 and Simon 65 Bunce have an "inmate"  Rebecca Bryant living with them.

In 1920 Lincoln, Nebraska, "Unis" Bunce is 79 with daughter Laura Kear 55 and her husband John C. Kear, 62.

Looking for location of cemetery where Eunice D.[Presher] Land, Blair was buried. She [according to family information] d. 12 December 1926 in Sterling, Logan County, Colorado. She may have been living with her daughter, Myrtle R. [Land] Speltz who lived there at that time. Eunice was b. 22 June 1840 in Tioga County, NY. m. 09 June 1861 to #1 Sidney J. Land b. 04 Aug. 1837 IL, d. 09 May 1900 in Wapaca County, WI. After Sidney's death she m.on 04 Jan. 1904 to #2 Simon W. Bunce b. 30 Dec. 1844 in Wisconsin, d. 19 Jan. 1918 Wapaca County, WI. Her daughter Myrtle was b. 1, May 1873 in IA. Her other children were: Laura L Land b. 9 May 1864 WI m. unknown Kear; Frank T. Land b. 4 Apr. 1868 WI m. unknown, John K. Land b 26 June 1870 m. unknown; William H Land b. 22 Aug. 1876 IA,and Sidney "Ralph" Land [my grandfather] b. 29 June 1879 Nebraska m. Anna Margaret Delaney, d. 6 Sept. 1948 in Seattle, WA. My great grandmother, Eunice D. [PRESHER] BUNCE was buried in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Yuma County, Colorado. She d. 12, Dec. 1926, and was buried on Dec. 14. She lived with her daughter, Myrtle [LAND]SPELTZ in Haxtun, Phillips County, Colorado when she died. Can someone tell me what town this cemetery is near and where I might write to in order to get her grave or plot number? Also, I would like to know if there are any SPELTZ buried there?
