Trowbridge, a Haigler rancher for many years, passed away at the Morehouse hospital on Tuesday evening where he had been treated since last Friday when he was brought here after a stroke. Mr. Trowbridge and his brother William owned a large ranch north of Haigler which they recently sold but have retained their residence at that place. He had been a resident of Dundy county for the past 21 years. He formerly resided at Haxtun, Colorado. He is survived by his brother, William, a niece and nephew in Denver and a niece in Baltimore and one in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at the Laughlin Funeral Chapel on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. H. T. Slagg in charge. Interment will be in the Benkelman cemetery.Researcher note: Burial records for the Benkelman cemetery show a birth date of 12-13-1878 and a death date of 2-27-1951.) Trowbridge, Haigler rancher, passed away at the Morehouse Hospital on Saturday after a critical illness of a month as the result of a heart attack. He was 84 years of age. William Alvin Trowbridge, the fifth child of six born to Israel Draggett Trowbridge and Betsey Pringle Trowbridge, was born on September 15, 1873, in Chenoa, Illinois. In 1886, his family moved to Haxtun, Colorado, to enter the livestock business, which was to become the lifetime occupation of William and his dearly beloved brother, Chauncey Trowbridge, who predeceased him. In 1930, the brothers purchased a large ranch northwest of Haigler, Nebraska, and commenced operation of a fine herd of cattle, which they continued until their retirement in 1950, when they sold out to Harold Kerst. In 1951, Chauncey Trowbridge passed away and William moved to the town of Haigler where he made his home with his niece, Lillian Nikiel, and her daughter, Betty. On May 20, 1958, William suffered a severe heart attack and was brought to the Morehouse Hospital in Benkelman where he passed away on June 14 after long suffering.

Alfons, born in Germany August 10, 1899 applied for naturalization with an address of Lacon, Illinois in 1939, but it was denied "unable to get depositions"
Alfonse, a machinist for an implement factory, and Lillian are in Lacon in 1940, with daughter Betty Lou, 4, born in Illinois. He died in 1999 and is buried in Carbon County, Wyoming. The Rawlins newspaper of Septermber 10, 199 said he was born in Berlin, Germany, mother's maiden name Berger.
Laura Sylvina Neuert, daughter of Nels Nelson and Mary Leonard, born in Keokuk, Iowa Feb 2, 1876, died April 26, 1943 in Chicago.
