Warren Cash Myers and Jennie (Trowbridge) Myers, Israel and Betsy Trowbridge, sons William, Chauncey, daughter Ledotia Trowbridge

In 1860 Hamilton County, Ohio, Jno Myers, 48, and Rachel 34, have Sarius 12, Zela 8, Geo 6, Warren 4, Edmond 2, and newborn Lilly.

In 1880 McLean County, Illinois, Rachel Myers, 54, is widowed.  She has Zarius S. 31, Illinois, George 26,  Ohio, Warren 23, Ohio, and Edmund S. 21 Ohio.  She and the three sons were also in Illinois in 1870.

Rachel Rena Myers, age 82 years 17 days, died Jun 12, 1908 in Chicago, buried at Montrose cemetery.

The Trowbridge family is also in McLean County in 1880, with Israel, 43, Betsy 39. Jennie 19, Robert 17, Ledotia 11, Lizzie 8, Willie 6, and Chancy 2.  Israel D. Trowbridge enlisted August 1862, served in Co H., 77th Illinois, mustered out July 1865 at Mobile, Alabama.

Warren Cash Myers married Jennie H. Trowbridge in McLean County March 9, 1881.

In 1900 Rockland precinct Warren, born Aug 1856 in Ohio, has been married 19 years to Jenny, March 1861 Illinois.  They have Rena Oct 1882, Louis Mar 1883, Stella Nov 1885, and Warren C. Dec 1898 , all kids born in Illinois.  They are living with Israel, born May 1837 in Ohio , and Betsy Trowbridge, April 1840 Scotland.  Warren and Jenny have Elizabeth Feb 1872, William A. Sep 1873, and Chauncey Dec 1878, all three born in Illinois.

Stella, born about 1883, married Arthur Edwin Holmberg Jan 20, 1906 in Kane County, Illinois.

In 1910 Rockland precinct Warren and Jennie have only Warren, 11.

 Warren proved up a quarter in 12, 6N 48W in 1916.

In 1920 they're over in Phillips County, with sons Lew, now 38 and Warren 20.

 In 1930 Phillips County W.C. and Jennie are living with Lew.

Warren is widowed in 1940 Phillips County, boarding with the Rudolph Kirschner household.  On the same section is Warren 41 and Sindy 41 Myers, with their three kids.

Warren C. 1856-1942 and Lew 1883-1940 share a tombstone in Haxtun.

Warren, born August 8, 1856 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to John Myers of Pennsylvania and Rache Rena of Kentucky, was living at 773 Lincoln in Denver when he died.

Israel D. Trowbridge timber-claimed a quarter in 23, 7N 48W in 1894, and William A. Trowbridge proved up a quarter in 35, 7N 48W in 1903.

"Leodoschia" Trowbridge married George Neuert, about 23, in Chicago December 24, 1895.

In 1900 Chicago a George Neuert, born Sept 1873 in Ohio, has been married six years, but there's no spouse listed.  He's an iron molder living in a boarding house on Columbia Avenue.

George L. Neuert, 35, married Laura Nelson, 27, in Chicago January 30, 1911

In 1920 Chicago George Neuert is an iron molder, 46, born in Ohio, married to Laurau, 43, born in Iowa of Swedish parents, and they're there in 1930 and 1940, too.

In 1910 Rockland precinct "Medocia" Neuert, 40, divorced born in Illinois, has Lillian, 13, born in Illinois.  Theodocia and Lillie are in Marshall County, Illinois in 1920 and 1930. Lillian is a spinner in 1930.

Ledochia Neuert proved up a quarter in 25, 7N 48W in 1912.

Illinois death records have LeDochoa Neuert born July 4, 1869 in Chenoa, Illinois, dying February 12, 1934, in Peoria, buried in Lacon, Marshall County Illinois.  Father E.D. Trowbridge, mother Betsy Pringle, spouse George L. Neuert.

1908 "William Trowbridge of Haxtun was a Yuma business visitor Monday."

Chauncey J. Trowbridge proved up a quarter in 2, 6N 48W in 1911. 

In 1913 he was a witness for the land claim of Jens P. Nelson in section 11, 6N 48W, both with Haxtun addresses.

In 1914 he was the secretary for Logan County School district # 13, with an address of Haxtun.  Bertha Krueger of Haxtun and Lee Dix of Burdette were teachers.

Chancey James Trowbridge registered with a Haxtun address, born Dec 13, 1878, and nearest relative was Mrs. Betsy Trowbridge of Lacon, Illinois. 

Israel -1837-1912 and Betsy 1840-1919 Trowbridge are buried in Lacon Illinois, sharing a stone with Robert F. 1862-1918.  #  69918115

William and Chauncey are living together in Rockland precinct in 1920 and 1930, but are in Dundy County in 1940.

Chauncey J. 1878-1951 and William J. 1873-1958 Trowbridge are buried in Benkelman, Nebraska.  So is George L. Neuert -Sep 1, 1872  - Nov 3, 1956, and Lillian Mae (Neuert) Nikiel 1896-1982 in Haigler, Nebraska..

Chauncey J. Trowbridge, a Haigler rancher for many years, passed away at the Morehouse hospital on Tuesday evening where he had been treated since last Friday when he was brought here after a stroke.

Mr. Trowbridge and his brother William owned a large ranch north of Haigler which they recently sold but have retained their residence at that place. He had been a resident of Dundy county for the past 21 years. He formerly resided at Haxtun, Colorado.

He is survived by his brother, William, a niece and nephew in Denver and a niece in Baltimore and one in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at the Laughlin Funeral Chapel on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. H. T. Slagg in charge. Interment will be in the Benkelman cemetery.Researcher note: Burial records for the Benkelman cemetery show a birth date of 12-13-1878 and a death date of 2-27-1951.)

William A. Trowbridge, Haigler rancher, passed away at the Morehouse Hospital on Saturday after a critical illness of a month as the result of a heart attack. He was 84 years of age.

William Alvin Trowbridge, the fifth child of six born to Israel Draggett Trowbridge and Betsey Pringle Trowbridge, was born on September 15, 1873, in Chenoa, Illinois. In 1886, his family moved to Haxtun, Colorado, to enter the livestock business, which was to become the lifetime occupation of William and his dearly beloved brother, Chauncey Trowbridge, who predeceased him.

In 1930, the brothers purchased a large ranch northwest of Haigler, Nebraska, and commenced operation of a fine herd of cattle, which they continued until their retirement in 1950, when they sold out to Harold Kerst. In 1951, Chauncey Trowbridge passed away and William moved to the town of Haigler where he made his home with his niece, Lillian Nikiel, and her daughter, Betty.

On May 20, 1958, William suffered a severe heart attack and was brought to the Morehouse Hospital in Benkelman where he passed away on June 14 after long suffering.

 

The Southwest Nebraska Genealogy Trails has George Lee Neuert husband of   Ledochia Trowbridge; Laura Nelson, and Lillian Mae Neuert wife of Alfons Nikel.  Alfons, born in Germany August 10, 1899 applied for naturalization with an address of Lacon, Illinois in 1939, but it was denied "unable to get depositions"

Alfonse, a machinist for an implement factory,  and Lillian are in Lacon in 1940, with daughter Betty Lou, 4, born in Illinois.  He died in 1999 and is buried in Carbon County, Wyoming.  The Rawlins newspaper of Septermber 10, 199 said he was born in Berlin, Germany, mother's maiden name Berger.

Laura Sylvina Neuert, daughter of Nels Nelson and Mary Leonard, born in Keokuk, Iowa Feb 2, 1876, died April 26, 1943 in Chicago.
