Photo History
CAPTION:
The attached photo is of my grandfather, Albert Lee Bradley, and
his sister, Ada. It was taken around 1885, when Albert would have
been 9 years old and Ada, about 7. The name of the photographer
is, E. A. Wilder, Durango, Colo., Albert and Ada were the
children of Albert S and Emily Carter Bradley. The family was
originally from Wheeling, W Va, and lived in Parrott City and
Durango, and perhaps another unidentified La Plata County
location, from about 1880 till about 1888.
Albert S. served as Deputy County Clerk for La Plata County and
was the Republican candidate for County Treasurer in 1883. He
lost. The family next moved to Salt Lake City, where they lived
until about 1900, when they moved again to Portland, Oregon.
Unfortunately for me, no Bradley cousins appear to be searching
for their Durango connections, but hopefully the name of the
photographer will be of interest to some La Plata researcher.
