Kit Carson County Pioneers:
George W. Harmon, Burlington
Burlington "The funeral of George W. Harmon,
who died here Wednesday, October 5, 1910, was held Thursday morning,
at 9:30, from the F. D. Mann undertaking parlors.
Mr. Harmon was a resident of Newberry, Knglaud, and was here looking
after his property when taken ill with the dropsy.
So far as could be learned, the deceased had no relatives in this vicinity ."
There were several George Harmons born in England in 1837-1838.
He might be the George Harmon baptised on August 30, 1837, son of William Harmon and Sarah Drinkwater.
George Willaim Harmon of Newbury England, 68 a U. S. citizen, arrived in New York from Southhampton on June 27, 1910
He was a farmer, with a nephew David Harmon of Quickly (England?), and was going to Fairbury, Nebraska.
"Notice is hereby given that Otto B. Harmon of Burlington , Colo.,
who on Sept. 25th 1906, made Homestead Entry for northeast 1/4 of
section 3, township 6 south, range 44 west, has filed
notice of intention to make Final five Year Proof, at Burlington,
Colorado, on the 28 day of October, 1912.
Claimant names as witnesses : William Klassen of Burlington,
Colorado, John B. "oye", of Burlington, Colorado, Andrew Bauder of Hermes,
Colorado, Henry Schmidt of Hermes, Colorado."
