A granddaughter wrote
" Mary was an educated as a nurse and a medical doctor. Joseph's sister Nellie Watters was
also a medical doctor and active in the Women's Suffrage movement of the 1900's.
There is the possibility the two women met in medical school. New York City and Philadelphia had
very good medical schools where women could get their education and degrees.
I am searching for a link between the two women as members of the suffrage movement.
Mary traveled to all the major cities where Suffrage rallies were held.
Denver was one of the many cities on their circuit.
I do believe Dr Nellie Watters introduced Mary to her oldest brother Joseph.
Mary was a beautiful lady and Lady as a saying goes 'both were not getting any younger.'
Mary and Joseph were not young kids when they got married. "
