Rawlins County, in 1888. At one time the present Cheyenne County was included in Rawlins County.
"Orisa" A. Russell claimed a tract in township 14S 45W, Cheyenne County, Colorado in 1890.

"The Bear River Lumber Company, by John C. F. McKesson,
George C. Junkin and Calvin P. Russell. Object, dealing in real estate,
timber, lumber, etc.; capital stock 400,000; principal office in Lincoln, Neb.;
operate in Colorado and other states."
"Orissa's sister Isadora Julletta Swisher was born on 4 July 1862, in Ohio, to William Baker Swisher,
36 and Frances F. Hahn, 27. She married John Charles Freemont McKesson on 25 December 1881,
in Lancaster County, Nebraska. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters.
She lived in Middle Creek Election Precinct, Lancaster County, Nebraska, in 1900 and Lincoln, Nebrasska,
for about 20 years. She died on 15 April 1946, in Lincoln, at the age of 83,
and was buried in Lincoln."
September 1914 Steamboat Springs "Mrs. F. H.
Swisher of Los Angeles and Mrs. C. P. Russell of Lincoln,
Neb., mother and sister of U. S. Swisher, arrived in
Steamboat Monday night for a visit of a week at the
Swisher home."
May 1915 "U. S. Swisher received a telegram Saturday
conveying the sad news of the death of his mother,
Mrs. F. H. Swisher, at Los Angeles, of acute
indigestion. She was 87 years of age on April 18,
and last year visited here with her daughter, Mrs.
Russell, of Lincoln, Neb. Her husband died a year ago
at the age of 93 years. Mrs. Swisher was arranging to
come here and make her home with her son, and the
news of her death was a great shock."
August 1917 Steamboat Springs " Mr. and Mrs. C. P.
Russell of Lincoln, Neb., who had been spending a
fortnight's vacation in Steamboat, left Monday morning.
On this trip Mr. Russell had his first try at trout
fishing and succeeded so well that he surely will
return next summer."

1921 Cheyenne Wells, Colorado "Last Thursday evening
the C. S. Woodrow family enjoyed a pleasant visit from
Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Russell and son, from Lincoln,
Nebr., who were on their return trip home after
having spent several weeks in the mountains.
Mr. Russell in the year 1887 built the first lumber
yard in Cheyenne Wells, also he started the first bank
in the town. The bank building then, is now known as
the Mrs. Joe Robinson residence."
July 31, 1925 Estes Park "Mr. and Mrs. J. C. F.
McKesson and Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Russell of Lincoln,
Nebraska, who have been occupying the Dr. R. G. Clapp
cottage in the Fort Morgan Colony, are leaving Saturday,
to spend a few days in Denver."

"Calvin P. Russell, 86, 2125 South,
for 35 years secretary-treasurer and later president
of the Lincoln Telephone company, died in Lincoin
Saturday night. In 1887, Mr. Russell worked in the
lumber and banking business in Goodland, Kansas.
Later he went to Mexico, where he worked on a
cattle and coffee ranch for six years.
He had been a resident of Lincoln for 40 years and
retired from business here in 1935. Surviving are his
wife, Oressia A.; two sons, Lt. Com. Edgar A. and
Dr. Ralph S., San Diego, and a brother,
Rev. Howard Russell, Westerville, O."

Mrs. Orissa Russell died Thursday in San Diego, with
funeral services at Roberts Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Russell was a vigorous, ambitious, active woman all
her life, both mentally and physically. She created a
beautiful home and without
complaint, devotedly cared for her husband during his
long illness with self-forgetting love, She was a brave,
loyal, beauty-loving, truth-loving Christian woman,
Rev. Mr. McConnell said. Born Aug. 31, 1865 at Little
York, O., Mrs. Russell entered the University of
Nebraska at 15, the youngest girl on the campus,
later taught in the Nebraska City high school and at 21
was homesteading for herself in Kansas. She was
married Aug. 31, 1887 to Calvin P. Russell who died in
January, 1944. “Since 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Russell made
their home in Lincoln where they made friends of
many. Mrs. Russell was a member of Thursday Morning
Lecture circle, the Diggers Garden club and several
other organizations. She was a member of
First-Plymouth church for 37 years, active in all
its life, loved by all who knew her” Rev. Mr.
McConnell asserted."

December 1959 "Dr. Ralph Russell, 58, a former Lincolnite, died Dec. 9 in .San Diego. Services were held there. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Russell of Lincoln. he was a brother-in-law of Mrs. J. Lee Rankin of Washington, D.C., also formerly of Lincoln. Survivors include his wife, two sons, Bruce, a University of »Nebraska Medical College student in Omaha, and Ralph Jr., with United .Air Lines, and a daughter, Ann, at home. His wife, the former Ruth Carpenter of Lincoln, is the daughter of Mrs. Arch Carpenter of San Diego and the late .Arch Carpenter of Lincoln. Dr. Russell was graduated from the University of Nebraska’s College of Medicine and practiced in Sutherland before moving to California in 1940.
