In 1880 Brown County, Indiana, James Long is 27, Rebecca Long 30 Wife, Andrew E. Long 8 Son, Jno. E. Long 6 Son, Thos. O. Long 3 Son, Emma E. Long 7/12 Daughter, and Nancy Long 52 Mother.

June 13, 1957 Nashville, Indiana " Omer Long, retired farmer, died in the Johnson Co. Hospital June 5. He had been ill a week. Funeral services were Saturday afternoon in the Oak Ridge church in Brown County. Burial was followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Long was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Long and was born at Jonesburg, Brown County on Nov. 18, 1886. He and Ruby David were married and four children were born to them. Mr. Long had spent most of his life here, where, he had been a farmet. Mrs. Long preceded him in death. The survivors are a son, Lowell Long of Helmsburg; and three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Watkins, of North Vernon; Mrs. Ardith Smith of Franklin; and Annabel J. Smith, of Boggstown. Also remaining; a brother, Elmer Long of Needham; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Rund, of Helmsburg. Mr. Long was a member of the Midway Baptist church."

July 1, 1970 Franklin, Indiana his brother "Andrew Elmer Long, a retired grocer in the Needham area died . Tuesday afternoon in the St. Francis hospital In Indianapolis. He was 98 years old. - - Born April 30, 1872 on a larm north of Helmsburg in Brown County, he was the son of James and Rebecca Conard Long. He graduated from the Helmsburg school-andfromJ)aovlUeNor: mal. ' After teaching school for one year, ne entered the grocery business at uorneuus wnere ne also became postmaster. He-retired after 54 years as a grocer in the Needham area selling his' business in 1958. He was a member of the First Mt. Plesant Baptist Church. Mr. Long married Angeline Elizabeth Richards in 1895 and she died in 1947. He subsequently married Dora Mullikin in 1949 who survives. . In addition to' the widow sur-vivors include one daughter, Mrs.- Sylvia . Ethel Bennett of Needham, route one; and 3 , stepdaughters, Mrs. v Jewell Ferguson of Indianapolis; Mrs. Mabel Brown and Mrs. Pearl Miller, both of California. Several step grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Vandivier Funeral home at 951 N. Main in Franklin is in charge of services which have been set for Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Lee officiating. Burial' will follow in the Second Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

April 17, 1904 Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
"Thomas Long, Esq., who from 1869 to 1880, lived on South Franklin street, died last Wednesday at Denver, Colorado, in the eighty-??? year of his age. He was a brother-in-law of William S. McLean, Esq., of this city, and was engaged in the coal business in Carbon County, Pa., wth another brother-in-law, Jamea McLean, Esq., who, at the time of his death, was cashier of the First National Bank of this city. While still a young man, Mr. Long, in 1860, retired from business in affluent circumstance. During his residence in this city he was a director and vice president of the First National Bank and a director and one of the original incorporators of the Wilkes-Barre Deposit and Savings Bank. Mr. Long was born in Ireland, where he received an education that thoroughly equipped him for a business career. For some years after he left Wilkes-Barre he managed the extensive coal interests and properties of the Denver & Rio Grande R. R., being eminently fitted by his experience for the position. Deceased is survived by six children, three sons and three daughters: John, who is manager of a mining camp in the Yukon gold field district, Alaska; Leslie, a distinguished civil engineer, at present director of Public Work of the State of Colorado, and who left Denver yesterday with the remains for this city; Thomas, who is holding a prominent position in the Civil Service in the Philippines; Elizabeth, who is the wife of John F. Graff, Esq., of Philadelphia, for many yeara interested in the publication of the Philadelphia Press, and whose article over the nom de plume of "Gray Beard" were for many years a charming literary feature of that journal; Mary, who married Scott Truxton, son of the late Admiral Truxton, who now resides in Colorado, and Margaret, who lives at home in this city. The remains of Mr. Long will arrive in the beginnig of this week and will be interred in the family plot in Hollenback cemetery."

February 8, 1910 Elwood, Indiana "Miss Zllla James, daughter of Joseph James of Ordway Colorado, was married yesterday to Mr. Thomas E, Long, of Walla Walla, Washington. The bride was a resident of this city for many years but three years ago she left for Colorado with her father where they have since been located. Her many friends of this city wish her much happiness in her future life."

In 1910 Crowley County, Colorado, Joseph James is 48, Zella Long 22 Daughter, Thomas James 17 Son, Clarissa James 10 Daughter, and Thomas O. Long 21 Son-in-law born in Alabama.
