"Henry Stanhope Bunting, 1865-1948, was an author and historian. He wrote several books on the subject of advertising and merchandising, as well as several histories about the Presbyterian Church in Texas and a biography about his father, Robert F. Bunting, a Presbyterian minister who served as the chaplain and regimental historian for Terry's Texas Rangers, the Eighth Texas Cavalry. After the war, Bunting established churches in several cities, most notably, the First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio"

August 27, 1951 " Mrs. Christobelle van Asmus Bunting, 73, author and
poet, died Saturday in Houston, Tex., it was learned here yesterday.
She was the widow of Henry Stanhope Bunting, author and member of
The Chicago Tribune staff during the Spanish American war. Mrs. Bunting,
who lived in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest for 40 years, moved to Florida in
1940 and two years later to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil I. Crouse,
in Darien, Conn. She published a volume of poetry, "Reverie,"
two years ago. Mrs. Bunting was born in Grand Rapids, Mich.,
the daughter of Henry David Cup van Asmus, former secretary of the
Furniture Manufacturer's association and of the Grand Rapids Board of Trade.
She was visiting her son, van Asmus Bunting of Houston, when she died.
Six grandchildren also survive. Private funeral services will be held in Lake Forest today"

1934 " At noon yesterday in the chapel of the Church of the Holy Spirit
in Lake Forest, Miss Elisabeth van de Velde Bunting, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Bunting, became the bride of Cecil I. Crouse,
son of William Henry Crouse of Germantown, Pa. The Rev. Herbert E. Prince
read the ceremony in the presence of the immediate families, and a wedding
breakfast followed at the Bunting home on Ravine drive in Lake Bluff.
The bride wore her going away suit for the wedding. It consisted of a black
skirt and coat with Persian lamb trimming, and with it she wore a lovely
chartreuse lame tunic, - knee length, and a hat and muff to match the
suit. The wedding climaxed a six weeks' courtship. Mr. Crouse and his
bride left on a month's wedding trip."
