"Mabel Pearl Chase, daughter of George W. and Alice Chase, was born May 18, 1884, at Willis, Ks., and departed this life June 15, 1960, in the Thayer County Memorial Hospital, at the age of 76 years, 28 days.
She was married to Jesse N. Calhoun on the third day of October, 1906. This home was blessed with three children: Opal, Archie, and Lowell. They moved to the Chester community in 1922 where they lived the remainder of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Lowell. She is survived by her husband, Jesse; one daughter, Mrs. J.M. Overman, Waverly; one son, A.L. Calhoun, Hastings; two sisters, Mrs. Ethyl Meisner, Salina, Ks., and Mrs. H.N. Winn, Madison, Wisc.; two brothers, L.C. Chase, Logan, Ia., and Ralph Chase, Aroura (sic), Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.""
