July 23, 1909 "Edward Plucheck arrived in Wray Saturday from his homestead near Cope, where he is also engaged in the windmill business. He will remain in this vicinity a couple of weeks and do some carpenter work."

February 1910 "A. R. Conway will hold a public sale at the Plucheck place, five miles south of Laird on Monday February 28th, 1910. Eleven head of horses, colts and mules. 4 cows, farm implements, household goods and some chickens will be sold.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Plucheck of Vona, Colo., accompanied them to Denver. The bride wore a blue tailored suit with black accessories, and the groom wore a navy blue business suit. Mr. and Mrs. Cross will make their home on a farm near Joes. The Rattler extends the happy couple congratulations and good wishes.

"Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sampson of this city have announced the marriage of their daughter Naomi to Mr. Arthur Plucheck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Plucheck of Laird. The wedding ceremony took place April 13, 1940 at St. Francis, Kansas, at the Christian parsonage with the Christian church minister of that city officiating. The bride and groom were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cross, sister and brother-in-law of the groom, and Mesdames Sampson and Plucheck, mothers of the contracting parties, witnessed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Plucheck will make their home on a ranch near Kirk. The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sampson, and the groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Plucheck. "Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pluoheck of Laird announce the marriage of their daughter Miss Iva, to Mr. Clifford Berry of Denver. The marriage was performed with the single ring ceremony at the Methodist parsonage in St. Francis, Kansas. Miss Edna Plucheck of Denver, and Arthur Plucheck of Hughes, sister and brother of the bride, attended the bridal pair. Mrs. Berry wore a lovely gown of dark blue silk crepe and carried a bouquet of red roses. The groom wore a dark business. suit. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents. Those attending were Messrs, and Mesdames Edward Pluoheck of Laird, Arthur Plucheck of Hughes, Roy Plucheck and children of Vona, Wayne Cross of Joes, Miss Edna Plucheck of Denver, Miss Dorothy and Stanley Plucheck of Laird. Mrs. Berry has worked as pricer for Montgomery Ward & Co., the past two years. Mr. Berry is manager of the Dixie Sandwich Shops. Mr. and Mrs. Berry will make their home in Denver."

"Miss Edna Plucheck of Denver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Plucheck of Laird, Colorado, was united in marriage to Mr. Millard D. Carlton of Denver, May 11, 1941, at the Methodist Parsonage in St. Francis, Kansas. Mrs. Iva Berry and Mr. Arthur Plucheck, sister and brother of the bride attended the bridal couple. The bride wore a lovely blue silk crepe dress with blue accessories. The bridegroom wore a dark business suit. Those who were present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Plucheck, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Plucheck and son, Duanne, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cross and daughter, Madonna, Miss Dorothy Plucheck and Stanley Plucheck. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents. Mrs. Carlton is employed as bookkeeper at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, and Mr. Carlton is employed at the Griffin Wheel Company. They will make their home on a ten acre farm which they purchased this spring near Denver, but will continue to work at their present employment. The Gazette extends to Mr. and Mrs. Carlton best wishes and congratulations."

Edward A. Plucheck, 75, a former resident of Yuma county, died suddenly with a heart attack at the home of a son at 925 South Tennyson in Denver November 3, 1956. Mr. Plucheck lived at 5200 Morrison Road at Denver. He was born October 18, 1881, at Tardnov. Neb., and lived for many years in this area. He is survived by his wife, Goldie Edith Plucheck of Denver; three sons, Arthur, Roy and Stanley, of Denver; four daughters, Mrs. Edna Carleton of Arvada, Mrs. Iva Ross of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mrs. Marjorie Cross of Joes, and Mrs. Dorothy Montgomery of Englewood; one sister; nineteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A rosary service was held at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday. November 6. at the Howard Mortuary in Denver, with requiem mass Wednesday morning. November 7, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church in Denver. Interment was at the Cope cemetery.
