d. June 1,1949 near Lamoni, lA, buried there Levi was obviously named for his mother's brother. They farmed just east of Lamoni, had no children of their own, but raised Grace and Isaac Slauter. Grace married Levi Lovell, and Isaac married Celia Brooks, daughter of William Earl Brooks. Isaac lives on the old Levi Brooks farm (1976)

Levi C. Brooks, born in Fayette County Iowa to Henry Brooks and Phoebe Carlise, married Sarah Elizabeth Jones on February 11, 1898 in Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa.

In 1900 Decatur County, Iowa, Levi C. Brooks born May 1869, married two years to Lizzie July 1865, both born in Iowa.

1913 " Mrs. S. H. Pierce, of Cainsville, was in Leon Tuesday, enroute to Togo to visit at the home of her sister, Mrs. Levi Brooks."

This Levi 1869-1942 is buried in Lamoni, Decatur County Iowa # 111380134, with Sarah Elizabteh (Jones) Brooks 1866-1949.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE

He might be the Levi Probst, age 2, in 1870 West Virginia, whose father Theopholis Probst changed his name to David Brooks.
This Levi married Mary Mae Cabe in Seattle on July 22, 1903, and then married a a widow McCone. They're in Seattle in 1920, Levi 62, Lena A. 51, and Lena A. "McGoon" 20.

They're still in Seattle in 1930, living alone.

Lena Ann Brooks, daughter of William and Ann Jacobs, died August 23, 1945 in Seattle, age 77.

He died May 20, 1953 in Seattle, age 95.
