In 1880 Jackson County, Minnesota, Charles Malchow is 31, Christine 26, William G. 7, HANNAH 5, Fredy E.3, and Liddy 1.

Christine Kilen Malchow 1854-1893 is buried in Jackson County # 30508185.

Charles is buried in Jackson County 1846-1932 # 30507620.

Hannah was born 7 September 1874 in Ewington Township, Jackson County, Minnesota.



Hannah Malchow was a music teacher in 1900 Martin County, Minesota, living with Charles Gibson and Mabel E. 27.

In 1910 Flagler, Stephen is a newspaper editor, 23, born in Illinois, married three years to Hannah B. 28 born in Minnesota. Thay have Addison M. 1 born in COlorado.

August 1910 "Editor Miller of the Arriba Record has been indulging in the luxury of a mid-summer vacation. S. A. Smith has been in charge of the paper."

Stephen claimed a quarter in section 18, 8S 51W in 1911.

1911 Burlington

December 1911 Burlington concert "Una Voce Poco Fa, an Italian song the English translation of which is Tyrant Soon I'll Burst Thy Chains, was composed by Giachomo Rossini, one of the most original creators of melody known to musician history. He lived 1792 to 1868. This song will be sung in Italian by Mrs. S. A. Smith."

1911

1912 Burlington "C. A. Malchow, formerly of Leoti, Kansas has brought his automobile here and will conduct an automobile livery. The family is now occupying the Thos. Seamen residence."
This is not a sibling of Hannah, as Charles was born in Kansas in 1881 to Charles F. Malchow born Sept 1853 in Germany.


Stephen A. Smith died in Martin County, Minnesota on April 15, 1918, son of David Smith and Lydia Brownfield.

Hannah is teaching school in 1930 Columbia County, Oregon, a grade school teacher, 50, widowed, living with the John and Alma Urie family, both in their 70's.

In 1940 Columbia County, Oregon, Hannah is a grade school teacher, 53, Addison 21 a clerk. They were there in 1935.

Hannah M. Malchos Smith 1874-1962 is buried in Redwood County, Minnesota # 117225945, on the same stone as her sisters Blanche G. Malchow 188--1970 and Lydia C. Rogers 1875-1957.

Addison was in the 1915 South Dakota state census, 6, born in Colorado, arriving in South Dakota in 1914.

Addison is buried in Columbia County 1909-1995 # 51582317.
" Addison Malchow Smith, a former Vancouver resident who moved to Rosemount a year ago, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995. He was 86. Mr. Smith, who was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Flagler, Ariz., grew up in Clatskanie, Ore. He worked as an office manager at Bemis Corporation in California before moving to Vancouver where he lived for 12 years. Mr. Smith's daughter, Johanna E. Halloway, died in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Esther E., at home in Rosemount; a son, Stephen A. Smith of Rosemount; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Vancouver. The casket will be open at noon on Saturday at Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary Chapel in Clatskanie, followed by a 1 p.m. graveside service at Murray Hill Cemetery"
