The father Charles A. Pihlstrom 1869-1937 is buried in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa # 133571843.

This is another Charles Pilstrom in Onawa - 1907
"A jury in Judge Mould's court at Onawa last week refused
to allow Charles Pilstrom, a 25-year-old? man,
the privilege of spending his own inherited money.
For twelve years past Pilstrom has been in charge of
a guardian, and, desiring to be his own financial boss,
he brought suit in the district court and demanded a
1arge... As a boy Pilstrom was sent to a home for
the feeble minded, where he made some small
improvement. After returning home
he entered the Onawa schools, and at the age of
26 years he had mastered the seventh grade.
His father left him a valuable estate, and
an uncle also willed him considerable property.
Ed. S. Cody was the temporary administrator,
and A. Kendall is the present permanent
guardian. The evidence in the case showed
that Pilstrom is overanxious to marry.
Letters showing his fondness for several
women were introduced. The guardian's
attorney, in his argument to the Jury,
stated that if Pilstrom were allowed
to manage his finances he would waste his
money in a short time on designing women."

In 1910, he's farming near Flagler, 24, born in Iowa, single, living alone.
He registered for WWI in Onawa, Iowa,
born December 24, 1879, farming, nearest relative Mary Alfredson of Whiting, Monona County.
In 1920 Monona County, Charles is a farm laborer, 40, one of five roomers for Peter and Jorgine Peterson of Norway.
Mary "Pulstrom", born 1872 in Onawa to C. G. Pulstrom and Anna C. Pierson,
married A. J. Alfredson on March 1, 1893 in Onawa.
In 1895 Monona County, A.J. Alfredson is 25, born in Sweden,
Mary Alfredson 21 and Charles Alfredson!! 24, both born in
Monona County.
In the Onawa Cemetery are Alfredson, Andrew John,
23 Apr 1887 -
15 Nov 1940 (Died: Sloan IA), and Mary - December 27, 1872-February 13, 1963.
November 1940 Sioux City, Iowa " Andrew J. Alfredson,
a resident cf Monona County for ?? years, died Friday after an illness of
three years. Funeral services will be held at Onawa. Mr. Alfredson
was born April ?? in 0tergfUand, Sweden. and came to America in ??.
In March 1893 he married Miss Mary Pihlstrom of Onowa.
Surviving are the widow, three sons, Albert and Harold of near fSkin
and Emil of Onawa, three daugnters, Mrs. Ruth Scott, Mrs. Myrtle Fegenbush,
and Mrs. Florence Deeds
; two brothers. Henry of Onawa and Aleck of
Whiting and eight grandchildren."

Emil F. Alfredson, 81, formerly of Onawa, died February 4, 1987, in a nursing home in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
He was born April 22, 1905, in Sloan to Andrew John and Mary (Philstrom) Alfredson. He was raised in Sloan and lived his adult life in Onawa. On July 11, 1963, he married Helen Rolph Smith, at Omaha, Nebr. She died March 25, 1977, in Onawa. He had been a letter carrier for 30 years on the Onawa City route. He moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota, two years ago.
Survivors include: one son, Jack of Hutchinson; one stepson, Gary Smith of Connell, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Claire Thrift of Ames; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; two brothers, Albert and Harold; and three sisters, Ruth Scott, Myrtle Phinney and Florence Deeds.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 1987, at the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. Mrs. Vince Phillips, the organist, accompanied Steven Johnson, who sang “The Lord’s Prayer”.
Bearers were Everett Alfredson, Vernon Alfredson, Gerald Alfredson, David Alfredson, Bernard Farber and Norman Rolph.
Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa. "
