"M. E. Eagleton, for nineteen years principal at the Garden
Place school in Globeville,
will be duly represented in the bust now being executed by Robert Guilison.
Mr. Eagleton was an educator of great repute for many years especially
in mathematics. Before going to the Globeville school he
instructed in Littleton. His great work in Americanization is well known.
A real loss to the world of education was sustained by his death in his
fifty-ninth year, on Feb. 7th, 1920. The teachers and people of Globeville
have united to give to the former residence of their beloved teacher a
likeness of the man himself. The bust is virtually complete in clay.
Those who have contributed to commemorate the life of Eagleton have been
invited to gather at the studio Saturday afternoon to see how the work
is progressing."
