Ora C. and Louisa (Kaiser) Bodwell , 8 South 51 West


LOUISA'S FAMILY

Louisa's parents were John Kaiser and Barbara Hildebrand.
They maried in Otoe County, Nebraska on December 31, 1868.

In 1885 Nemaha County, John Kaiser is farming, 48, Barbara 38, Mary 15, LOUISA 9 and Henrry 37. Barbara's mother Barbara W. Hildebrand 82 is with them.
Louisa was born in Missouri, all others in Germany.
Barbara 1847-1934 and John 1838-1928 are buried in Red Willow County, Nebraska.

"Mary Sophia Schmohl was born to Johann Gottlob Schmohl & Christiana Luise Hildebrand. Mary was adopted in 1871 after her parents deaths by her mother's sister Barbara & husband John Kaiser.
Mary Sophia Schmohl was born April 9, 1868 in Nurtingen, Germany and departed this life at Fort Collins, Colorado, December 10, 1931 at the age of 63 years, 8 months and 1 day.
She is survived by her aged foster mother, Mrs. John Kaiser, and her foster sisters, Mrs. Louisa Bodwell, of Fort Collins, Colorado and Mrs. Hannah Bartholomew, of Lebanon, Nebraska and two nieces and three nephews.
At the age of two years, she came with her parents to America, and after their death at the age of three, was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. John Kaiser. They resided in Atchison county, Missouri, and when Mary was 10 years of age, they located to Nemaha county, Nebraska where she grew to womanhood. At this place she was confirmed into the German Lutheran church.
In 1891, the family moved to a farm near Lebanon, Nebraska, later moving to Lebanon where she faithfully cared for her foster parents until her health failed 3 years ago. During the last eight months she was lovingly cared for by her sister, Mrs. Louise Bodwell of Fort Collins, Colorado.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m.,Sunday, with Rev. R. A. Jeffrey in charge. Interment was made in Lebanon Cemetery."

Ora' s Father, Alvin Person Bodwell, was born December 7, 1839 and died February 16, 1925. Ora's Mother - Martha Jane (Garrett) Bodwell was born March 3, 1842.

Ora claimed a quarter in section 13, 8S 51W in 1910.

Ira B. "Cummins" is in Kit Carson County in 1910, 33, born in Illinois, a farm laborer for the Ora C. and Lusia K. Bodwell family.

September 1910 "O. C. Bodwell, one of the two new men on the Democratic ticket for assessor, is one of the prominent men of the west end. Mr. Bodwell was born in Polk co-unty, Iowa, came to Nebraska in 1878 and underwent the hardships of a frontier life. He has been a resident of this county for the past four years, and is at present deputy sheriff for the west end. He is a farmer by occupation and possesses excellent judgment and business ability. He is a member of the I. O. O. F. and Masonic fraternities, being at present secretary of Flagler Lodge. No. 127 A. F. A. M."

August 1912 Burlington "Deputy Sheriff O. C. Bodwell of Flagler was in the city on business connected with his office."

Louisa Kathryn (Kaiser) Bodwell Born - June 7, 1876 in Watson, Atchison County, Missouri. She married Ora February 15, 1905 in Lebanon, Red Willow County, Nebraska.

In 1920 Ora 46 and Louisa K. 43 are in Red Willow County, Nebraska, with Ursa E. 12, Mary M. 10, and Ora O. 7.

In 1930 Fort Collins Colorado, Ora is a day laborer, with Louisa 52 born in Missouri, Ursa 21 in Nebraska, Mary M. 19 and Ora O 17 in Colorado.


Louisa died - September 5, 1958 in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado. She and Ora are buried in Grandview Cemetery Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.


Ora Clinton Bodwell, born July 18, 1873 in Polk County, Iowa, died February 24, 1956 in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.

Mary Mae Bodwell was born November 3, 1909 in Flagler Kit ,Carson County, Colorado. She died December 18, 1976 in Lake Worth, Florida, never Married.



ORA OSCAR

Ora Oscar Bodwell was born November 18, 1912 in Flagler, Kit Carson County, Colorado.
He married Stella R. Snedigar on March 26, 1933 in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.

In 1940 Ora, 27, and Stella R. 29 are in Jackson County, Colorado, with Ruth E. 3.

Ora Oscar died February 6, 1988 in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado.
