David E. Swayze, 8 South 50 West
David claimed a quarter in section 32, 8S 50W in 1893.
David E. Swayze is in the Topeka, Kansas Post of the GAR.
He was in the Wichita post in 1895, age 63, born in Ohio, farming, serving as a private in H. 13th Kansas Volunteer from 1862 59 1865.
In 1900 Douglas County, Kansas, David has no occupation,
born June 1832 in Ohio, married 34 years to Mary J. April 1843 Illinois.
Edwin July 1867 is a shirt salesman , Minnie E. Nov 1869 and
Lottie R. May 1871 are teachers, and Paul D. March 1872, a book salesman, were all born in Kansas.
He might be the David Clay Swayze 1832-1906 buried in Douglas County, Kansas # 33425692, wtih Mary Jane (Ford) Swayze 1843-1912.
Santa Fe, New Mexico, September 25, 1903
" Edwin M. Swayze, a prominent manufacturer of Wichita, Kan.,
to Miss Nettie May Woody, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Woody.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. C. Buell, pastor of
the Presbyterian church at Taos. The beautiful bride was attended by
Miss May Rayley, maid of honor and Miss Emma Badger, bridesmaid.
J. K. Stewart was the best man. After the ceremony a wedding dinner
was served at the home of the bride's parents. The wedding presents
received by the young couple were numerous and beautiful.
Mr. Swayze and his bride arrived in Santa Fe last evening, and will
take in the sights of the ancient Capital City until the first of
the week, when they will extend their honeymoon to Albuquerque,
augmented by a short trip through the Lone Star state before going to
Wichita, where they will make their future home.
The New Mexican unites with the many friends of the contracting
parties, and the friends of the bride's parents in Taos and Santa Fe
counties, in extending to the bride and groom the heartiest
congratulations. "
1910 "E. M. Swayze of Colorado Springs, who comes to Santa Fe periodically as a grocery broker, is a visitor in Santa Fe."
