born August 1860 in Canada, brother-in-law of John Woodruff 56 born in ichigan and his wife Elizabeth 45 born in Canada. Charles Sager 8 and Willie R. 6 were both born in Washington, mother in Tennessee.

April 1910 "Elizabeth A. Sager was born in
Prince Edward county, Province of Ontario,
Canada, Feb. 11, 1854 and died at her home
in Clifton Sunday, April 17 about one o'clock i
n the afternoon, of heart trouble. The deceased
was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W.
Sager, and lived under the parental roof, until
she came to Kansas to join her brothers,
James and William who had come to Kansas
when young men. She kept house for her brother,
James until the year of 1872 when she was
married to John Woodruff. To this union there
was born one child only; who died in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff made their home for
years on a farm north of Vining but several
years ago moved into a residence at Clifton,
which they had prepared for their future
home. She was universally respected by the
people of Clifton and surrounding community, and an
active member of the M. E. church. She leaves a
husband and three brothers, James Sager of Vining,
Joseph Sager of Colby and Miles Sager of Los
Angeles California, besides a host of relatives."
Robert Sager is in Los Angeles in 1910, 49, widowed, immigrating in 1869, lodging with widow Allie Hammond, 70.
August 12, 1915 " The community in and near Clifton and Vining was shocked Saturday morning to hear of the death of Mr. James Sager at Kansas City, Mo. Although he had been ill for several weeks and small hopes had been held out for his recovery, yet the news of his death was a painful surprise to his, many friends in this section of the country. He had gone to Kansas City a few weeks ago on a business trip and while there suffered a paralytic stroke, the third he had had within the past two years, from the effects of which he died
last Saturday morning. The remains were brought to Clifton Sunday
evening on the Rock Island and Monday were laid at rest by the side
of his wife in the Vining cemetery. James Sager was born in
Prince Edwards County, Ontario, Canada, August 28, 1845. He removed to
Detroit, Michigan from Canada and a short time later moved to Missouri
where he was employed on the Hannibal and St. Joseph railroad.
Leaving there he went to Knox County, I11inois,
but soon left that state and came to Kansas in 1870. In 1874 he was
married to Miss Iva S. Haynes and to the union were born six
children five of whom are still living: Gilbert E. Sager,
Luella E. Haynes, Mildred E. House, Frank M. Sager
and J. Irvin Sager. Mr. Sager had made a success of business and
at the time of his death was interested in the Clyde Mill and
Vining Grain Company."
One tree said Robert died in 1916.
Charles Miles Sager was born Dec 18, 1890- per his WWII registration - 1891 per the SS death index - in Stelcom, Washington, dying May 1975.
Wm. R. Sager is a carpenter in 1910 Los Angeles, 16, in a boarding house.
