James timber-claimed 160 acres in section 17, 8S 50W in 1898.

He might be the same James A. Laughlin who cash-claimed a quarter in section 5, 6N 46W, Phillips County, Colorado in 1891. That area was close to the Weld City settlers, including Charles Timberlake, the banker and U.S. congressman.

James Anderson Laughlin, born July 25, 1843 in Greenville, Pennsylvania to Wm. Laughlin and Elizabeth Mossman, died in Kansas City April 9, 1923, spouse Jennie Laughlin, informant J. Lyman Laughlin of 3310 Olive, Kansas City, to be buried in Mt. Washington.

In 1933 Ralph Martin was a pallbearer for the funeral of James Laughlin.

Lenora M. Page and Elimeintee R. Laughlin had Helen Marie on April 3, 1926 in Omaha, who died November 15, 1997 as Helen Marie Berryman.

She's buried in Wayne County, Nebraska # 70259657.
