Jesse Beeson and Alice (Odell) Kelley, 8 South 50 West


In 1860 Omaha, Nebraska John Kelley is farming, 36, Charity Kelley 49, Jesse Kelley 16, Bishop Kelley 14, and Anne Kelley 21.

John is buried in Platte County, Nebraska 1804-1869 # 37091766, w ith Charity Beeson Kelley 1808-1895 # 20226204.
"July 10, 1895, at 10 a.m., at the residence of her son, Patrick Henry Kelley, near Oconee, Mrs. Charity Kelley, in the 87th year of her age, being 86 on her last birthday, March 17.
Mrs. Kelley's maiden name was Beson. She was raised among the Quakers or Friends, but for some years past has been a member of the Presbyterian church.
In 1857 she removed from Ohio to Nebraska living near Florence. In 1861 they removed to this section, locating southwest of where Monroe now stands.
About two years ago she began to be afflicted by cancer, and was confined to her bed several months.
She leaves four sons and one daughter: John M., Patrick H., Jesse, Bish. B., and Mrs. Anna Young besides grand and great-grand children.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Presbyterian church in Oconee, and the body brought to Columbus and laid to rest in the cemetery here.
Grand-mother Kelley has been long and very favorably known to very many of our Nebraska readers. Of a most kindly, generous and liberal disposition, she was at home wherever she came, and made her way immediately to the hearts of all her acquaintances, whether young or old.
She had remarkable strength of mind, and rare good judgment. Her life had been one full of interesting incidents, and nothing could be more delightful than to listen to her narration of some of these, happening in her childhood of Jefferson county, Ohio.
Her long life has been one of usefulness to others, lived in the true spirit of christianity, and the world has been bettered by her being in it. "

Jesse claimed 160 acres in sections 33 and 34, 8S 50W in 1900.

Jesse B. Kelly, 32, born in Ohio to John and Chanty Kelly, married Alice Odell on Oct 3, 1875 in Hall County, Nebraska.
She was 20, daughter of B.F. Odell.

Benjamin F. Odell 68 and Mary C. Odell 65 are in Kit Carson County in 1900, with Mary 22 and Marie H. 1.

In 1880 Grand Island, Nebraska, Jessy is a carpenter, 37, born in Ohio, with Alice 24 born in Iowa, and Frankie 2 born in Nebraska.

In 1900 Pierce County, Washington, Alice is teaching school, born July 1854 in Iowa, married 21 years. She's had five kids, two living. Henry March 1882 in Nebraska, and Eddie August 1888 in Colorado.

Jesse Beeson Kelley, 66, was in Alameda County, California in 1910, a carpenter, Republican, living at 1721 Berkeley Way.

In 1908 Oakland, Alice is at 2023 Channing Way, (wid Jesse B.), and Henry P. is there, a student at the U. of C.

In 1910 Berkeley, Henry P. Kelly is 27, born in Nebraska, father Jessie B 69 and mother Alice O. 55, adopted daughter Marie H. 10 born in Denver, and aunt Mary Odell ?? born in Nebraska.
(Mary Odell was in Antelope County, Nebraska in 1880, age 2, with F. Benjamin 48 and G. Mary Odell 45. L. Frank is 22, Bertha 13.

Alice O. Kelley was manager of the Berkeley Unity Free Reading Room at 1842 McGee Avenue in 1910.

Alice might be the Alice V. Kelly, 69, dying in Los Angeles County on Sept 4, 1924.

Jesse is a carpenter in 1920 Churchill County, Nevada, widowed, 76, born in Ohio.

He might be the Jesse B. Kelley dying in Lake County, California on April 17, 1923, age 80, buried in the Hartley Cemetery, Lakeport.

"Jesse Beeson Kelley was born 4 April 1843 in Ohio. He was a Carpenter. Widowed.
He was a resident of Ukiah, but due to some illness he had come to Lake County to the home of his son, Henry Kelley"


Henry P. Kelley married Minnie B. Davis in Lassen County, California.
She was 27, daughter of John Whitfield Davis and Alta Leota Van Horn.

Minnie Davis was in Clackamas County, Oregon in 1900, born April 1889 in Kansas, with John W. Davis and Alda L. Davis both born in Iowa.

In 1930 they're in Klamath, Oregon
Henry P. Kelley 48, Blanche D. Kelley 40, Harold M. Kelley 9, and Dale H. Kelley 6.

In 1940 Henry is a carpenter in St. Helena, Napa County, 58, with Blanche D. 51 and Dale H. 16.

Henry Patrick Kelley registered for WWII in Napa County, born March 27, 1882 at Grand Island, Nebraska, reference Blanche Kelly of the same address.

Henry Kelley 1872-1967 # 48180931, and Blanche Davis Kelley 1889-1964 # 48180926 are buried in Napa County.
