John W. and Della (Hart) Kearns, 8 South 50 West



DELLA'S FAMILY

Nate Hart cash-claimed a quarter in section 14, 8S 44W in 1890, and another in 14, 8S 44W in 1891.

Nathaniel 1845-1922 and Elizabeth Jane Bacus Hart 1846-1911 are buried in Marshall County, Iowa.

Clara Bertha Rosenow was born September 1887 in Burlington, Colorado to Nathaniel and Eliazbeth Hart, dying July 5, 1976, buriedn in Marshall County - so she was Della's sister.

Clara Betha Hart, 24, married Wilbur F. Yingst on Feb 9, 1911 in Marshall County, Iowa.

In 1920 Clara is in Marshall County, 32, married to William F. Yingst 34, with Viola M.3, Morrel W. 6, and Lillian I. 5.

Wilbur F. Yingst 1885-1955 is buried in Omaha # 161757134, with Anna Barbara Pesek POvondra Yingst 1885-1963.
Anna's first husband was Frank Pesek 1883-1926.


Charles Hart, 77, a long time resident of this community, passed away Friday afternoon, November 14, 1958 at the Marshall, Iowa, county hospital, where he had been a patient for the past three years. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the Wensel Funeral Home with the Rev Elmer J Braun, pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery.
Mr. Hart was born May 14, 1881, in Audubon county, a son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Backus Hart, and at an early age moved with his family to Melbourne.
He was married in November 1908 to Laura Riemenschneider at Marshalltown. They farmed near State Center until moving to the present farm home one and a half miles south of town.
Mrs. Hart passed away in 1937.
He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. His wife, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Katherine of State Center, and five sisters, Mrs Della Stone of Des Moines, Mrs Nora Wichael of State Center, Mrs Ed Smith of Colo, Mrs Clara Rosenow of Sioux City and Mrs Florence Rielly of Pheonix, Arizona.

In 1895 Phillips County, Kansas, Della Kearns is 26, born in Iowa, Ethel M. 6 in Colorado, Arch A. 5 in Kansas, and Vaughn E. 2 in Iowa.

In 1900 Marshall County, Iowa, Della Kearns is a domestic, born Dec 1867 in Iowa, Ethel M. Sept 1889 was born in Colorado, a "Niece" They're in a boarding house run by George Michael 38 bonr iVirgina and Elvira 29 born in Iowa - so Elvina might be a sister of Della?

When Nora Wichael 1871-1967 died, "Mrs. Wichael was born May 7, 1872 at Lacona, Iowa, the daughter of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bachus Hart. She grew up and received her education in Colorado.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Yingst of State Center and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Clara Rosenow of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Ed Smith of Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband, one step son, four sisters and two brothers."

Della Hart Karnes, daughter of Nate Hart and Elizabeth Bacus, married Charles Stone on Sept 25, 1901 in Marshall County, Ioa.

They're in Story County in 1910, Charles 52, Della 42, Carrie D. 7, Laura M. 6, and newborn Bessie L.

Della A. (Hart) Stone is buried in Story County, Iowa 1869-1965 # 86606638.

JOHN

Allie J. and Fred Fisher divorced in Pueblo, Colorado on Dec 22, 1899.

Pueblo Colo, Fred Fisher, a cowboy, was killed August 27, 1907 at the Toll Ranch, in the northeast corner of the county and very near the El Paso county line, by George Fox, a well-known cattleman of that region.
A messenger brought the news to town on horseback and the sheriff and coroner left for the scene.
Fisher was about thirty-four years old and had been employed at the ranch for three or four months.
Nothing whatever is known of his antecedents.
He was doing some work a short distance from the house, there being some high weeds between him and the house.
Fox was cleaning his revolver on the front porch when it was accidentally discharged, it is said.
Several hours later Fox's brother stumbled onto the body of Fisher lying in the weeds with a bullet hole through his head.


J. W. Kearns and Allie Fisher married in Las Animas County on Feb 20, 1901.

In 1910 Pueblo, Allie Kearns is 33, married but no spouse, born in Missouri, rooming with Charles and Mollie Fields.

In 1910 Denver, John W. Kearns is a railroader, 51, born in Indiana, living with daughter Ethel M. Kearns 20, born in COlorado. Ethel is the proprietor of a rooming house.

There's a John W. Kearns buried in Pueblo, dying August 20, 1925 # 111873356, age 63.

W.J. Kearns and Allie Kearns divorced in Pueblo on Feb 18, 1903.

Allie Kearns married J. Loyal Doty on Sept 15, 1909 in Denver.

In 1910 Allie (Wid John) is living at 208 Bluff in Pueblo.

John Loyal Doty married Eva Brown on December 25, 1910....


VAUGHN

Vaughn Edgar Kearns waws born July 12, 1893 in Panera, Guthrie County, Iowa to "Wesley" Kearns born in Indiana and Della Hart born in Colorado.

Vaughn was living with his grandparents Nathan and Elizabeth Hart in 1900 Marshall County, Iowa, born July 1893 in Iowa.

Vaughn died in July 1982, last residence Portland, Oregon.

ETHEL

Ethel was in Story County, Iowa in 1905, 15.

Ethel, 21, married Delbert Stanard in Pueblo, Colorado on March 13, 1911.

They're in Whitefish, Montana in 1920, Delbert 43, Ehtel 30, Fred 8, Madeline 5, and Zack 2.

Ethel is divorced in 1940 Whitefish, a chambermaid, 50, with Fred 28, Eelyn 22 and their daughter Lucille ten months. Albert is 8.

Ethel Stannard, born Sep 29, 1889 at Burlington, Colorado to John Wesley Kearns and Della Kearns, married James D. Bays on Feb 15, 1942 in Whitefish, Montana.

Ethel is buried in Spokane, Washington 1889-1982 # 183582434, with James D. Bays 1888-1971.

Fred 1911-1989 is buried in Kalispell # 118337395, and so is Delbert 1876-1952 # 91751333l

WILLIAM

William L. Hart claimed a quarter in 23, 8S 44W in 1890.
