Charles J. and Elizabeth (Middlemist) Farr, 8 South 50 West
In 1870 Labette County, Kansas, John Farr is 46, Eliza 16, Catharine 12, Charles J. 11, and Nancy 9.
1903
May 24, 1884 Brush, Colorado " Mr. C. J. Farr was looking for a herder last Wednesday. His blooded cow presented him with a fine heifer calf."
June 1884 Brush "Charlie Farr was riding his horse about in
the lake southwest of town, and the horse, realizing that he
had the advantage, began to buck, and there being no strap to
cling to, Mr. Farr took an involuntary bath."
July 1884 "Al Thompson, formerly of Thompson & Farr,
butchers, "hit the road" for Deer Trail, Colo., this morning,
leaving a good reputation and many friends. Good luck, Al,
may ye live to eat the chicken that dances over yer own grave."
October 1884 Brush " The copartnership heretofore existing between W. H. Downs. C. B. Simpson and C. J. Farr Is hereby dissolved. All persons Indebted to said firm will please make payment to Downs A Simpson."

January 1885 "Charlie Farr, formerly of Brush, is now in Deer Trail. "
1885 Brush, Colorado "C. J. Farr drifted in here Thursday; he has been to h—well, nobody knows where, but he j reports cattle looking well on the river and says the Metcalf out fit is at work drifting them back. "
Charles J. Farr and Elizabeth Middlemist married on March 4, 1893 in Limon, Colorado.
Charles claimed 160 acres in section 33 and 34, 8S 50W in 1899
He had also made a claim for a quarter in section 34 in 1895, including the 189 land.
In 1900 Kit Carson County, Charles Farr, born Sept 1860 in Illinois, with Elizabeth Sept 1861 in New York,
have Charles W. July 1895, Marguerite
Dec 1897, and Duncan Dec 1898, all three born in Colorado.
In 1910 Charles J. is 49, Elizabeth 48, Dewey C. 14, Margarite 11, and Duncan 10.
December 1917 Hugo, Colorado "Charles J. Farr, who
owns one of the finest stock farms in the Flagler
neighborhood, was in town last Saturday afternoon
to preside at the meeting of the Eastern Colorado
Live Stock association of which he is the able
president. Few men know Eastern Colorado better than
does Charlie Farr, for he is one of the few old time
cowboys who have stayed with the business thru
fat years as well as lean ones, and has achieved
success as a reward for his staying qualities."
They only have Marguerite 22 and Duncan L. 21 in 1920 Kit Carson County.
April 10, 1925 "Mrs. Margaret Middlemist,
who would have celebrated her 89th birthday in
June this year, died at Grand Junction, Colo., April 6,
1925. Mrs. Middlemist had been making her home in Grand Junction
with her son Pete, for a time.
Previous to this she resided on her place at Limon,
Colo. The deceased is the mother of B. D. Middlemist
of south of town. Other surviving children are;
Mrs. Belle Irwin and Pete Middlemist of Grand Junction.
Mrs. C. J. Farr of Flagler,
James Middlemist of Limon, Robert Middlemist of
Dixon, Mont., and A. C. Middlemist of Denver,
besides a number of grandchildren. It was expected
that the funeral would be hold today, Thursday in
Denver, but was not definite, pending
word from a son at a distance. Burial will be
made in Denver. Deepest sympathy is extended
Mr. Middlemist by friends of the community in the
loss of his aged mother."
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Charles 70 is still farming with Elizaeth 69 and Duncan 31 farming.
Elizabeth is buried in Flagler 1861-1934 # 27370688.
Charles is buried in Flagler 1859-1935 # 27370654.
"Charles ranched south of Flagler in the early 1900's. Was a well known character in town, known for his prominent mustache and being a true cowboy. He would ride his horse into town for supplies and recreation. It was rumored that when he bought a car he had a whip holder installed so he could feel comfortable driving it"
Duncan is buried in Flagler 1898-1989 # 5100652,
with Cora E. 1906-1994 # 27370604.
"Owner of Farr dry goods store which was north of the Flagler Theater, now occupied by Witt Dry Goods.
Was in the first graduating class from the newly constructed Flagler school at the north end of Main St. Was known for athletic ability in field and track.
1964 "Mr. and Mrs Roy M. Ziemann of 1410 Washington Avenue, are announcing the engagement of their daughter Joy Kathleen to David A. Farr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan L. Farr of Flagler, Colo. David Farr, a graduate of Colorado State college, is attending graduate school at Denver university. He is employed as a librarian for the Jefferson County bookmobile. Miss Ziemann is a 1964 graduate of Golden high school and is enrolled in Parks school of business. A late fall wedding is planned."
Marguerite Farr is in the Pueblo state hospital in 1930 and 1940.

Dewey, of Flagler, Colorado, departed from Camp MacArthur on the Pocahontas in Hoboken, New Jersey on September 15, 1918.
Dewey died of disease in World War I, an Army private.
He's buried in Arlington National, dying October 7, 1918 # 57042609.
Dewey C. W. Farr claimed 200 acres in section 34 and 35, in 1922 -.
