Emma's mother Louise Ellen (Rainbow) Moss 1863-1953 is buried in Macedonia, Iowa # 100645676.
" survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. E. R. Shafto, Mrs. Stafford Crisler, Mrs. Ernest Jones, Mrs. Vivian L. Maynes; 2 sons, LeVerne W. Moss, H. Guy Moss; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren."
James Graham Moss 1856-1924 is also buried in Macedonia # 134088966.

Married. --At West Point, Mo., March 4, 1880, by J.I. Fugat, Justice of the peace, Mr. John CRISLER and Miss Dora STAFFORD, of Lincoln township, Linn county, Kan.

Dora's mother "Mrs. Mary L. Stafford, whose maiden name was Bunch, died at the home of her nephews, Ira and Lafe Bunch, at the old Bunch place on Friday, Dec. 27, 1907, at the age of 68 years, 20 months, and 13 days, of cancer of the neck, after an illness of several months.
Miss Mary Bunch was born In Salina county, Mo., Feb. 14, 1839. In 1861 she was married to Anderson Stafford and to them two children were born. A son William now lives in Kansas City but was in too poor health to attend the funeral. A daughter married John Crisler and died a few years sgo.
Mrs. Stafford became a Christian and lived a consistent life. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 2:30 p. m., and interment was made in Oak Lawn cemetery, Rev. J. O. Borton conducting the services. Mrs. S. D. Moore, mother of Ira and Lafe Bunch, has been with them during her sister-in-law's illness. She returned to her home in Mound City last Friday: The relatives of Mrs. Stafford desire the Record to extend to the friends and neighbors their sincere and warmest thanks for the kind assistance so often and so timely given during Mrs. Stafford's illness. "

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Stafford is farming, 24, born in Kansas, married five months to Emma D. 21 born in Iowa. His father was born in Illinois, mother in Indiana. Emaa's father was born in Pennsylvania, her mother in Iowa.

Stafford claimed two quarters in section 7, 8S 50W in 1912.

John registered for WWI in Waterloo, Iowa, farming, born May 3, 1885, with wife Emma Dale Crisler.

They're still in Black Hawk County, in 1920, farming, John 34, Emma 30, Louise 8, Dorothy 6, and newborn Ellen.

In 1925 Pottawattamie County, Iowa, J. S. Crisler is 39, Emma 36, Louise 13, Dorothy 10, both born in Colorado, Ellen 6 and Donald 1 in Kansas. John's parents were J. H. Crisler and Dora Stafford. Emma's were J. G. Moss and Louise Rainbow.

In 1930 Pottawattamie County, John is fazrming, 43, Emma D. 40, DOrothy M. 16, Marjorie H. 11, and Donald J. 6. His father John H. Criselr 73 is with them.

In 1940 Pottawattamie County, J. S. and Emma are farming, with Ellen 21 and Donald 16. Nephew Frank Crisler is 22, born in Kansas. He was in Linn COUnty, Kansas in 1935.
"Frank Loren Crisler was born on December 20, 1917, near La Cygne, Linn, KS, the son of Jesse and Coral May Shattuck Crisler."

John Stafford Crisler is buried in Macedonia, Iowa 1885-1974 # 175932681.
So is Emma Dale Moss 1889-1974 # 175932733.

LOUISE

Louise graduated from Macedonia High School in 1929.

Louise Crisler, 24, married William A. Klein in Oklahoma City on October 12, 1935.

In 1940 Oklahoma City, Louise is a nurse, 28, born in Minnesota?, with William A. Klein 31 a house physician, born in Missesota. They were in Nicolette County, Minnesota in 1935. Julia is age 2. , no place of birth.


Dora Louise Klein, born June 24, 1911 in Flagler, Colorado, died in Duluth Minnesota on December 8, 1997.

DOROTHY

Dorothy graduated from the Macedonia High School in 1930.

Dorothy Marie Higby, born May 7, 1913 in Colorado, died October 13, 1989 in Riverside County, California.

MARJORIE ELLEN

Marjorie Gantka is living at 2000 Risen Son in Council BLuffs, Iowa in 20000.

Marjorie, age 88, died in 2007 in Glenwood, Iowa.
"Marjorie Ellen Gantka, of Glenwood, died March 27, 2007, at Linnwood Estates in Glenwood. Marjorie previously lived in Omaha and Council Bluffs.
She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on February 24, 1919, to the late John S. and Emma Dale (Moss) Crisler. Marjorie graduated from Macedonia High School in 1937, Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing in 1940 and did post graduate Pediatrics at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, in 1941. She was a registered nurse and taught pediatric nursing at Jennie Edmundson Hospital for 32 years retiring in May of 1980.
Marjorie was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, Jennie Edmundson Memorial Nurses Alumni Association, Retired Nurses Association, life time member of Women's Christian Association.
Marjorie is preceded in death by husbands, Robert J. White (1965) and Floyd Gantka (1997); sisters, Louise Klein and Dorothy Higby.
Marjorie is survived by daughter, Patricia James and husband, Steven of Glenwood; son, Ronald J. White and wife, Lilia of Mineola; brother, Donald J. Crisler and wife, Doris; grandchildren, Tim and Jennifer James, Jessica Riddle, Cala and Laura White and step granddaughter, Daniela Cuadros and 5 great grand- children.
Visitation Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service Thursday, 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Kraft, Dodge Memorial Christian Church officiating. Intermen Ridgewood Cemetery."



DONALD

Donald is buried in Macedonia, Iowa # 79367851.
" Donald (Don) J. Crisler, age 87, of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born November 27, 1923, in rural Carson, Iowa, to the late (John) Stafford and Emma (Moss) Crisler. He graduated from Macedonia High School in 1941 and served as an airplane engine mechanic in the U.S. Army Air Corps 1943 to 1945. He was united in marriage to Doris L. Hobson, on February 14, 1948, and they were blessed with five children, Louise, David, Cheryl, Dennis and John.
Don farmed for 11 years upon returning home from the war. He then worked as a line technician for Northern Natural Gas, retiring after 25 years of service. Don loved to spend time with people; he worked part time the past 10 years transporting vehicles for Avis Rent-A-Car in Omaha, Neb. Don was a master craftsman and enjoyed his retirement by making things in his workshop, tending his beautiful flowers, traveling, dancing and spending time with his family. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 648, serving as commander in 1960. He served as Master of the Macedonia Masonic Lodge in 1962, was Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, and a member of Botna Valley Shriners. Don loved to dance and was a member of the Polka Lovers and P.O.L.K.A. and Polka Swingers, and a member of the 40's ballroom dance club for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stafford and Emma Crisler; sisters, Louise Klein, Dorothy Higby and Ellen Gantka; son, David Crisler; and great granddaughter, Emily Peterson.
Don is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Louise and husband, Gary Peterson, of Carson, Iowa, and Cheryl and husband, Tom Pietzsch, of Leavenworth, Kan.; sons, Dennis and wife, Becky Crisler, of Caney, Kan. and John Crisler, of Leavenworth, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many, many friends."
