"Minnie Mable, known as Peggy, was born to Mable Agnes Mead and Solomon Leonard Chase. Family recollections state that she weighed less than 2 lbs at birth and was not expected to survive. Young cousins of the new infant named her after her mother who had passed away the day after birth from complications. Peggy was raised by her paternal grandparents. She married Jens Hansen in IA in 1921; and with their first two children moved to CA looking for work. They had 5 children, 1 dying in early infancy; Hazel, Harold, Dolores, Leonard, and Joanne. The family settled in Marin County CA. Peggy was survived by her husband, Jens; children - Hazel, Harold, Dolores and Joanne; and her beloved grandchildren - Ron, Rudy, Irene, and Peggy."
