August 23, 1917 Hebron, Nebraska "A double golden wedding anniversary was the unusual event celebrated at Davonport on Monday in honor of Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Easton of Hebron and Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Lewis of Alahambra, Cal. The brides of half a century are sisters who were married in Norton. Til. August 20. 1867 The golden wedding was held in the presence of fifty relatives who assembled at the home of Mrs. C. C. McLeese, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Easton. A large double wedding cake, inscribed "1867-1917," formed the centerpiece for the dinner table around which the guests listened to talks by the honored guests who are still hale and hearty. Doctor Easton read an original poem. Decorations were in yellow and gold. Many valuable presents were received. Dr. and Mrs; Easton have lived in Hebron since 18?4. Doctor Easton is the oldest practicing physician in Thayer county: he began in 1869 and still retains his practice. He is government weather observer at this place."

1938 "The movie pic, "In Old Chicago" holds a special interest for one Davenport woman, Mrs. C. C. Mc - Leese, for her parents carried her from the inferno in a clothes basket when she was a baby of fourteen months. Mrs. McLeese's parents, Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Easton, were living in Chicago at the time, late October, 1871. Dr. Easton was then a medical student at Rush medical college. Dr. Easton noticed a red glow in the sky before going to bM the night of the fire, according to the account told his children in later years, but thought nothing of it, having confidence in the city's fire department. Later in the night, however, the parents were awakened by the flames and had time to save only the children (Mrs. McLeese and mr two - year old sister, now Mrs. B. D. Ash - brook of El Reno, Okla.) and a little clothing. The Eastons came to Nebraska in 1884. "

Daniel Easton was a blacksmith in Grafton, Fillmore County in 1881.

Charles Burnett, 21, son of John Burnett and Lucinda Watkins, married Mollie Easton, 18, daughter of Daniel Easton and Julia F. Canada, on Dec. 29, 1881 in Fillmore County.

In 1885 Thayer County, Nebraska, Chas. Burnett is 24, "Mattie" Burnett 20, "Atto" Burnett 3, and Claude Burnett 1.
They're next to Julia F. Easton, 40, married but no spouse, and Erskin 6.

Charles Burnett 1860-1887 is buried in Fillmore County, Nebraska # 95883512.
"We are sorry to announce the death of Charles Burnett, who has been living on a claim in eastern Colorado. He was taken ill of a fever and his father, Mr. John Burnett, of this place, went to him as quick as steam would carry him, but poor Charlie was dead before his father’s arrival.
His body was sent here Sunday, accompanied by his wife and children, and was interred in the Geneva Cemetery that evening.
The widow and children, together with the father, mother and sisters, have the sincere sympathy of all their old friends and acquaintances in their great loss.
The Fairmont Weekly Chronicle, (Fairmont) November 2nd, 1887 page 5. Cemetery records show that Charles was the son of John S. and Lucinda Burnett. Charles was also the brother of Cevilla S. Burnett, and Emma Searles."

Mallie Burnett cash-claimed a quarter in section 22, 9S 43W in 1891 - thirty miles from Letitia and Alice and Ruth.

William J. Wilkinson, 32, and Mrs. Mallie Burnett, 29, married in Platteville Coloardo on March 4, 1894.

In 1900 Weld County William Wilkinson is 42, Mallie B. Wilkinson 35, Alta B. Burnett 17, Claude H. Burnett 16, Clarence J. Burnett 14, Nevia Burnett 12, Edward W. Wilkinson 4, Frank Jackson 23, and Lenna Wilkinson 25.

In 1910 Los Angeles Neva Burnett does housework, 22, William Wilkinson a farm laborer, 50, Mallie Wilkinson 46, and Edward Wilkinson 14 is a messenger boy.

In 1920 Los Angeles, William and Mallie have only her mother Julia F. Easton, 75, born in Illinois.

In 1930 Los Angeles, Mallie is 64, widowed, a house mother in a dormitory.

Mallie, born Nov 21, 1861 in Illinoise, father Easton, mother Canady, died in Sandiego January 12, 1944.

Mallie B. Wilkinson 1863-1944 is buried in Brighton, Colorado 105455794, William J. Wilkinson 1859-1920 # 105455835.

Henry Claude Burnett was born Feb 23, 1884 at Fairmont, Nebraska to Charles Burnett and Melvina Easton. He married Blanche Shifler and died July 28, 1963 in Poittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Neva Burnett married Frank Stap, and had Lorna on Nov 10, 1913 in San Diego. She died as Lorna M. Seaman on Dec 17, 1987.

Alta B. Burnett was born Sept 29, 1882 in Geneva Nebraska, dying in Pinal County, Arizona on May 28, 1947.
Alta M. Burnett and William E. Wallace married in Colorado on January 30, 1905.
She was in Cochise County, Arizona in 1910, 27, married five years to William E. Wallace 30, with daughter Ruth Ella 4 born in Colorado.

MALLIE'S BROTHER ERSKINE

Erskine, born in Troy, Wisconsin to D. A. Easton and J. F. Kennedy , married 19 Jan 1909 Vera Myrick in Center, Monona County, Iowa.

In 1910 Weld County, Colorado, he's a carpenter.

In 1920 Kern County, California, Erstine Easton is 44, Vera Easton 36, and Ted Easton 7.

Erskine, born 4 Jun 1875 in Missouri, died 5 Sep 1963 in San Bernardino County.


MALLIE'S BROTHER WILLIAM
William Easton and Ellen Hallet married in Denver on Dec 4, 1895.
They were in Denver in 1900, and moved to Montrose County, ranching there in 1910 and 1920.
1906 Montrose "Mrs. William Easton and little daughter left Friday for a month’s visit in Denver. "

1919 Montrose Colorado "William Easton, accompanied by his daughter, Miss Myrtle, motored up from Olathe Saturday to do some shopping. "

November 1921 "Miss Myrtle Easton and Joe Bishop were quietly married Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist parsonape in this city. Rev. John T. Ketchum of the Methodist church officiating The couple was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Phillips and Mrs. A. T. Lathrop. all of Olathe. Miss Easton has resided in Olathe for eighteen years, and counts everyone who knows her as a friend. She is a young lady of pleasing personality and manner. She graduated from the Olathe high school last June. Mr. Bishop came to Olathe from California about four years ago. His parents reside fn Arkansas. During his residence here, Mr. Bishop has made many friends thruout the whole country. He has a great deal of ability and is highly thot of by all who know him He served overseas during the World war. with the S9th division. Mr. and Mrs. Bishop have rented the P. C. Anderson house in Olathe, and will make their home there, where I Mr. Bishop is engaged in farming. Countless good wishes go to the popular young couple from all over the county."
