Mrs. Mary L. Reuschling, who for some time has been in very poor health, last night departed this life.
About two months ago Mrs. Reuschling was taken sick and was brot to Flagler, at the home of her son, Harry, in order that a doctor might be more accessable. All that human hands could do was done for this mother, but the Infinite One had said "Not so" and at one o'clock Thursday morning, August 28th, her spirit took it flight.
Mary Lucy Brown was born May 12th, 1851, at Lowell, Mass. She was married to Conrad Reuschling at Cedar Falls, Iowa where they lived for a number of years, later locating at Sioux City Iowa. Nine years ago Mr. and Mrs. Reuschling came to Colorado, locating on a homestead nine miles from Cope, which place was the home of Mrs. Reuschling at the time of her death.
Mrs. Reuschling was of a happy disposition but the death of her husband who passed away in March of 1918 was sadly mourned.
Mrs. Reuschling was the mother of 12 children, three of whom died in infancy. One daughter died six years ago.
She is survived by five daughters and three sons: Mrs. Hugh Melott, Mrs. W. G. Gibbons, Mrs. F. M. Walcott and Mrs. A. R. Kudrle, all of Sioux City, Ia., Mrs. L. S. Pocock of Cope, Colo., A. E. Reuschling, of Isabel, S. Dak., Fred C. Reuschling and Harry A. Reuschling, of Flagler.
Mrs. Reuschling was long a consistant member of the Baptist church.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Heiserman Chapel, and the body will be taken to Sioux City to be laid to rest by the side of her husband. Mrs. Melott and H. A. Reuschling and family will accompany the remains to its last resting place tomorrow night.

Fred proved up a quarter in 18, 8S 49W in 1920.
In 1920 Cope precinct, Fred is 35, Hazel 22, Kansas, with Francis Theodore, 2.
In 1930 Fred is a janitor in Sioux City, Iowa, with Hazel, Frederick, Esther, 10, and Virgil 6, all three kids born in Colorado.
Fred is still a school custodian in 1940 Sioux City, and they have Esther, a packer in a wholesale biscuit company, and Virgil is a delivery boy for a drug store, and Howard 5 born in Iowa.
Fred died Dec 1, 1971, and Hazel - born Aug 16, 1897 in St. Clere, Pottawatomie County, Kansas , died November 1, 1975.
Francis Theodore Reuschling, age 22, born in Colorado, married Lucille Gladys Dongstel in Orange City, Iowa on May 11, 1936.
Frank T. Reuschling, born in Seibert, is in the obituary listings of Sioux City of Sept 8, 1997.
"SIOUX CITY -- Howard Richard Reuschling, 73, of Sioux City passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Crescent Park United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Scott Squires officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Howard was born March 24, 1935, in Sioux City, the son of Fred and Hazel (Searcu) Reuschling. He graduated from Central High School in June 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves in 1952 and was called into active duty from Dec. 12, 1956 to Dec. 19, 1958.
He married Dianne F. Conway on Aug. 23, 1959, in Sioux City. They lived in Sibley and Le Mars, Iowa, before settling in Sioux City in 1964. He worked as a food broker for Premier Marketing until retiring in June 1997.
He was a 53-year member of Crescent Park United Methodist Church. A big part of his life was spending time at his trailer on Round Lake in Minnesota. There, the couple met wonderful, lifelong friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Reuschling; a son, Rick Reuschling and his special friend, Lori Nyreen, of Sioux City, and his son, Rick Reuschling Jr. and his wife, Whitney, of Indianapolis; identical twin daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Russ Hauser and her sons, Jeff Morehead and his wife, Heather, and Chad Morehead, all of Akron, Iowa, and Becky and Scott Morehead and their sons, Marcus Morehead and Mathew Morehead, all of Westfield, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel Reuschling; a brother, Frank Reuschling; a brother-in-law, Byrnes Johnson; and two sisters-in-law, Terry Reuschling and Nancy Conway Luikart.

Bruce L. Johnson, 51, of Sioux City died unexpectedly Friday, May 30, 2003, in Sioux City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the 185th Air Refueling Wing. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Bruce was born June 18, 1951, in Sioux City, the son of Byrnes A. and Esther M. (Reuschling) Johnson. He graduated from Central High School in 1969.
He married Cindy R. Simon on Feb. 12, 1972, in Sioux City. He was a lifelong Sioux City resident.
Chief Master Sgt. Bruce L. Johnson was assigned to the 185th Fighter Wing, Maintenance Squadron, Colonel Bud Day Field in Sioux City. He enlisted on Jan. 22, 1970 and became a full-time technician on March 19, 1972. He provided 33 years of service to the 185th Fighter Wing. Throughout his long career, Bruce held many positions such as crew chief, Phase Dock supervisor and Accessories Element supervisor, in which he held dual Fuels and Egress Air Force Specialty Codes. Most recently, he was assigned as the Component Repair Branch chief, overseeing Aircraft Fuels, Electric, Hydraulic, Egress and Propulsion shops.
He attended the NCO Academy in residence in 1990 and completed his Senior NCO Academy course in 1994. Bruce was promoted to the permanent grade of chief master sergeant on Aug. 9, 2000. Throughout his career, he assisted in the maintenance of numerous aircraft weapons systems to include F-100, A-7 and F-16 fighter aircraft. More recently, he was an integral part of the planning and implementation of the 185th's conversion to the KC-135 tanker aircraft.
During his long career, he served as the NCOIC of numerous deployments. He was a key organizer of Operational Readiness, Unit Evaluation, Quality Air Force Assistance and other higher headquarters inspections. He was the acting treasurer of the Chief's Council of the 185th and a strong advocate for the enlisted corps. He was actively involved in the restoration and mounting of previously flown fighter aircraft for static display. He was directly responsible for the F-100 memorial display and was involved in the ongoing F-16 static display-mounting project.
His military awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal in support of Operation Provide Comfort, Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Iowa Meritorious Service Medal, Iowa State Service Ribbon and Iowa Leadership Ribbon of Academic Achievement. He had a tremendous influence on the lives of people with whom he came in contact. His upbeat attitude toward work, family and community was infectious. He will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Sioux City; his mother, Esther Johnson of Sioux City; a son, Jeremy Johnson of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Allen and Bev Johnson and Wayne and Bonnie Johnson, all of Sioux City; a grandson, Tyler Johnson of Sioux City; and 11 nieces and nephews, Suzanne Hanson, Lisa Brazzell, Jeff Johnson, Doug Johnson, Craig Johnson, Blake Simon, Jason Johnson, Brandee Davis, Joyce Zediker, Nicole Simon and Shanin Simon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Byrnes Johnson; a granddaughter, Lexie E. Johnson; his father-in-law, Nick Simon; and sister-in-law, Corrine Johnson.

In 1920 the Hugo newspaper reported that among the guests at Margaret Morgan's birthday were Lawrence Reuschling and Mr. Reuschling. Mrs. H.Reuschling assisted Mrs. Morgan with the luncheon. Decorations were in the Sophomore colors.
