In 1860 Taylor County, Chapman and Jane have Mary A. 19, S.M. E. 18, John R. 16, Minerva 14, Leonidas 13, and Evaline 9.
In 1870 Taylor County, now West Virginia, Chapman and Jane have Mary J. 25, John B. 22, Leonida 21, Manerva 19, Eveline 16, and Elizabeth 9.

In 1860 Knox County, Missouri, Wm. "Shekels" is 43, Elizabeth 41, America E. 19, Thomas C. 16, Abraham 15, Mary K. 14, Caroline A. and Angeline both 12, Martha 10, Sarah E. 8, and Alice F. 4.

In 1870 Knox County, Missouri, Sarah E. Sheckler is 18, with Wm W. 53 and Elizabeth 51, Caroline 22, Angeline 22, Martha 20, Alice F. 15, and Thomas 27.
In 1880 Knox County, Wm. and Elizabeth have Thomas 37, Caroline 28, and Sarah "Shekler" 24.
(Elizabeth Sheckles 1819-1888 is buried in Knox County # 113473293, with William Washngton Sheckles 1817-1887.
Caroline never married, and is also buried there 1848-1910.)

In 1890 John is on the veterans schedule for Lancaster County, Nebraska.
John proved up a quarter in 11, 8S 49W, near Seibert, Colorado, in 1900.

In 1900 John C. H. Hustead born Aug 1842 in West Virginia, married 18 years to Rosa E. May 1852 Kentucky, are stock raisers. Iva Frazier, Nov 1881 Kansas is a servant.
In 1909, John "late of Company C, Fourth Regiment West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry" was nominated to receive a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month.

In 1910 Otero County, Colorado, Jno. and Sarah - 51 (57) - Missouri - are alone . This census says they have been married 28 years.

John R. C. Hustead 1842-1925 is buried in Canon City # 33227239 "He was a Civil War Veteran. He was a Private in Company C, 4th West Virginia Infantry (14 Jul 1862-9 Mar 1864). He was also a member of GAR Greenwood Post 10, Canon City, Colorado. "
So is Sarah E. Sheckles 1852-1931.
Sarah E. Hustead, 77, born in Missouri, is in Portland Oregon in 1930, living wit Charles Ross 70 Wisconsin and his wife Orella L. 63 Wisconsin.


In 1915 John B. Husted of Yuma filed notice for three-year proof for two quarters of 17, 2S 48W, witnesses Arthur C. Baker, William T. Sheets, Edward Belknap, and Thomas McCoy, all of Yuma.
