In 1909, John "late of Company C, Fourth Regiment West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry" was nominated to receive a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month.
In 1910 Otero County, Colorado, Jno. and Sarah - 51 (57) - Missouri - are alone . This census says they have been married 28 years.
John R. C. Hustead 1842-1925 is buried in Canon City # 33227239 "He was a Civil War Veteran. He was a Private in Company C, 4th West Virginia Infantry (14 Jul 1862-9 Mar 1864). He was also a member of GAR Greenwood Post 10, Canon City, Colorado.
