1917 Junction City Kansas "Emil Holterman was in from eastern Geary yesterday afternoon."
Emil is in Geary County Kansas when registering for WWI, (he was a private in the 139th Infantry) a carpenter, and still there in 1920, a farm laborer. In 1930 Geary County he's living alone, doing odd jobs, and a carpenter there in 1940, still living alone.
Emil, per # 72088065, died May 30, 1940, and is buried in Junction City.

" Peter Brune, 101, one of Maries County's oldest residents,
died at his home in Brinktown Wednesday. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Brune was born May 20, 1857, at Rich Fountain, son of
Peter and Josephine Dicke. On April 24, 18SM. he was married to Miss Philomena Bauer.
Surviving are: Five sons, Adam Brune, Iola, Kan.;
Frank Brune, Aloysius Brune, Joe Brune and Phillip Brune,
all of Brinktown. Two daughters, Miss Anna Brune and Mrs.
Hilda Winkleman, both of Brinktown. Twenty-five grandchildren. "

"Henry Brune dies Sunday
Henry A. Brune, 76, Freeburg, died Sunday at Charles E. Still
Hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1896, in Osage County,
the son of Peter and Elizabeth Richter Brune. He was never
married. Survivors include: Two brothers, Emil Brune,
Dodge, Neb., and August Brune, Freeburg. Funeral services
will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic
Church, Freeburg, with Msgr. Ralph Kutz officiating.
Burial will be at the parish cemetery. "
