In 1900 Shelby County, Missouri, Luthur G. Hewitt born Feb 1843 Missouri, married 26 years to Laura M. July 1850 Ohio, have Daisy B. Oct 1875, Florence J. July 1878, John M. Mar 1879, Pearl feb 1882, Ethel Feb 1888, and Alice July 1892, all kids born in Missouri.
Daisy B. and Luther G. Hewitt had claimed land in 1915 in 6S 51 W and 6S 50W.
On November 8, 1910, M.Harry Smock of Shelby County, Missouri, married Florence J. Hewitt of Flagler, in Burlington. He had been previously married in 1903 in Missouri. Harry awas 34, Florence 33.
Florence Smock, formerly Florence "Hewett" cash-claimed a quarter in 7, 6S 50W in 1911.
Florence Smock was the teacher at District 55, Shiloh, in Kit Carson County in 1919.
M. Harry Smock 1876-1919 is buried in Colorado Springs # 65048376.
Florence Smock married Homer F. Brock in Golden, Colorado October 23, 1926.
In 1930 Homer 47 and Florence 52 are farming in Weld County, and they're in Denver in 1940, where Homer "Broch" is a stone cutter.
1933 Greeley "Homer Brock Jr. of Winterset, Ia., has arrived to visit his father, Homer Brock, and Mrs. Brock."

WILLIAM BROCK DIES AT 96 YEARS
Had Been Madison County Resident Three Quarters of Century
William Brock, one of the oldest residents of Winterset and Madison county, died last Thursday, Oct. 13th at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines at the age of 96 years. Mr. Brock had been in fairly good health until his 96th birthday; on July 15th he was taken to the hospital and he had been cared for there since then.
The deceased, a son of Mosby and Evaline Brock, was born in McClain county, Illinois, June 29, 1853. He moved to Polk county with his parents in 1869, and he moved to Madison county in 1874. This community had been his home for the past 75 years.
He was married in February 1880 to Sarah E. Shaw, and they lived on farms in the Oak Grove neighborhood until 1916, when they moved to Winterset. The Brocks were the parents of four children. Mrs. Brock died in 1919 and one son, Dennis A. Brock, and one daughter, Mrs. Eva Stump preceded him in death.
Mr. Brock is survived by a son, Homer F. Brock, and one daughter Mrs. Ada Binns of Greeley, Colo.; and he also leaves a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Brock of St. Joseph, Mo., eight grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
He joined the Oak Grove church when he was a young man and -------his membership there until the time of his death.
The Rev. Marvin Hudson conducted his funeral services at the Richards funeral home, Oct. 17th, at two o'clock in the afternoon and burial was made in the Pleasant View cemetery in Webster township.

Jay R. Brock Dies in Missouri
Jay R. Brock, a native of Winterset, died April 5 at a hospital in Rolla, Mo., following a heart attack. He was 55 years of age.
Mr. Brock was born in Winterset Nov. 13, 1915, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Brock. He graduated from Winterset High school with the class of 1934. He served in the U.S. army for many years, retiring in 1964 with the grade of first class sergeant. Since then he had been employed as a golf course manager.
He was a member of the First Methodist church, the Methodist Men's club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Rolla Kiwanas club.
Mr. Brock is survived by his wife, Eva, a son Bruce Brock of Carrolton, Mo.; his father, Homer Bruce Brock of Greeley, Colo.; and a sister Mrs. Helen ----- of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.
Funeral services were held from the Null and Son chapel in Rolla, with burial at the post cemetery at Ft. Wood, Mo.

On October 26, 1913, Charles W. Weaver of Cope married Alice E. Hewitt of Cope - her witneses L.G. Hewitt and Daisy Hewitt. Charles was 22, Alice 21.
In 1910 "Miss Hewitt, of Flagler" was teaching in Dist No. 14 one of nine teachers.
In 1912 Miss Daisy Hewitt was teaching at District # 14.
In 1910 Cope precinct, Luthur G. is 67, "Lanvilla" "59, and Alice H. 16.
In 1920 Cope precinct, Washington County, Colorado, Luther G. Hewitt is 76, Laura V. 69 with Daisy B. 43 born in MIssouri.
In 1930 Luther and Laura are alone in Weld County.
1931 Greeley "Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Weaver and daughter Frances,
with Mrs. L. G. Hewitt motored up from Denver Sunday and visited
at the J. M. Hewitt and Homer Brock homes. Mrs. L. G. Hewitt who
has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Weaver in Denver, for several months,
and Miss Daisy Hewitt are guests of their ....
September 29, 1932 Greeley, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt Observe 59th Wedding Anniversary
Briggsdale, Sept. 20.--Celebrating their fifty-ninth wedding
anniversary Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Hewitt of Briggsdale were guests of honor
at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Charles Weaver in Denver,
Mr. and Mrs, Homer Brock, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hewitt and family
going up for the happy occasion and to participate in the delightful
dinner party. Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt are the oldest couple in
the Briggsdale community. Mr. Hewitt is 91 and his wife was 82
years old last July. They are unusually
well and active for their years. They were married near Shelbyville, Mrs. Hewitt, whose maiden name
was Miss Laura V. McLeod, was born in Ohio and educated
at. a gtrle private boarding school in that State.
Mr. Hewitt was born in northeastern Missouri. Well-known as a public
speaker in his younger days, for seven terms he was county treasurer of Shelby county,
and is a former school teacher. For many years he conducted a
general merchandise store but retired several years ago.
In 1910 they moved to Flagler, Colo., where they homesteaded a
section of land, coming to Brlggsdale three years ago to be near
their children. They have four children, J. M. Hewitt and Mrs. Homer Brock of Briggsdale, Miss Daisy Hewitt
of Burlington and Mrs. C. W. Weaver of Denver, and seven grand children."
April 4, 1935 "received here Monday of the death of Luther G. Hewitt at the Denver home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles I Weaver, in Denver on his ninety-third birthday, and was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained, x-rays revealed no broken bones the shock proved too great for his advanced ago. Mr. Hewitt formerly resided here with his wife on the llyer and Seibert ranches south of town, coming from to be near their children, "
Luther 1842-1935 is buried in Denver, # 94116744, on the same stone as Laura V. Hewitt, 1850-1939.
In 1937 Denver Laura (wid Luther G.) is living at 759 S. York.
Also buried in Wheat Ricge are Charles W. Weaver 1891-1972 # 60062728 and Alice 1892-1988, 3 60062691.
Daisy Belle Hewitt 1875-1963 is buried in Wheat Ridge, # 60062780.
