In 1870 Warren County, Iowa, Thomas Atkison is 50, Abigail 46, George 25, Laura 14, Henry 16, Elma 11, Nora 9, Mary 7, and Dan 3.

In 1885 Gage County, Nebraska, F. J. Atkinson is a carpenter, 64, wife A. 61, son H.A. 31, born in Illinois, and daughter Elma 26. Also with them are daughters Nora Steffler 24 and May 23, boarder Madison Stiffler 26, a photographer, and daughter Dora Atkinson 18.

Henry Atkinson, married Minnie Hill, age 20, on March 1, 1881 in Clarinda, Iowa.
One tree said she was Minnie Munger, in Jasper County Iowa in 1880, age 14, who married H.A. Atkeson Dec 24, 1882 in Miller County, South Dakota.
(the tree also said Minnie's sister Flora Viola born 1863, married James Wescott in 1883 in Miller, South Dakota. James is a grain dealer in Hand County in 1885. She then married Harvey L. Clark in Colorado Springs May 27, 1891, having Bernice in Colorado Springs in 1893.)

Henry W. Atkinson married Alice M. Chibnall in Denver April 17, 1889 - no ages given.

In 1900 Bernalillo County, New Mexico, Walter R. Atkeson born April 1884 in South Dakota, and Mabel A. Nov 1889 Colorado, are with grandfather George Bixler, 60, a hotel keeper. Minnie M. Bixler, daughter-in-law, born Sept 1866 in Iowa, married 17 years, two children is also with them.

Walter Rupert Atkeson registered for WWI in Anaconda, Montana, born April 1, 1884, a mechanical engineer with the Washoe Smelter, wife Nellie.
In 1920 Anaconda, Walter 35 is married to Nellie 28, born in Oklahoma, with Clarise 1, Montana. Nellie's widowed mother Eliza Porter, 64, born in England, is with them.
In 1930 Seattle, Walter and Nellie have Clarice E. 11, Lois E. 9, Montana, and Ruth A. 5, Washington.
In 1940 Bremerton, Washington, Walter R. is 55, married but no spouse, and Clarice E. 21 is with him.
In 1940 Seattle, Nellie is 48, with Lois E. 19 and Ruth A. 15. Maybe they wanted to keep the girls in school....

Walter registered for WWII in Bremerton, Washington, born in Miller County, South Dakota, reference Mrs. William V. McLaughlin of Hollywood, California.

Walter 1884-1966 # 114630818 and Nellie (Porter) Atkeson 1891-1961 are buried in Seattle.

ALENE BIXLER (Henry's granddaughter)

In 1910 Albuquerque, Arthur S. Bixler and Minnie are both 43, married sixteen years , with Alene 20 and George W. 71.

In 1918, Alline Bixler was a charter member of Alpha Chi at the University of New Mexico.

In 1920 Albuquerque, Arthur and Minnie and Allene, 30, a school teacher, are still together.

They're together in 1930 Los Angeles, and "Alline" is a high school teacher.

In 1932, when Allene arrived in New York from Southampton, she said she was born Nov 17, 1889 at Colorado Springs.
When Allene arrived in Los Angeles from Shanghai in 1934, she said she was born Nov 17, 1889 at Colorado City, Colorado, and was living at 755 North Kenmore, Los Angeles.
In 1940 Los Angeles, William McLaughlin is a newspaper reporter, 33, Allene a music teacher in the city schools, 47.

"Allene Bixler McLaughlin was born in Colorado on Nov. 17, 1889. McLaughlin settled in Los Angeles in 1921. For 29 years she taught at Fairfax High School. She died in Los Angeles on April 4, 1975.
